In less than three months, the very much anticipated AVENGERS: ENDGAME will arrive in theatres and give Marvel fans across the globe the much needed answers (or so we hope) to what happened in the aftermath of AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR! To celebrate the film’s upcoming release, check out my super fun recipe for Infinity Stone Cookies!
When I envisioned these cookies, I pictured the actual cookie part as a “galaxy” with a space-like background. While I was baking the cookies, my son said it reminded him more of the Quantum Realm!
Given the blues and purples that appear in the Quantum Realm, I guess his statement could be correct! There has been much chatter that the mysterious Quantum Realm will play a huge role in AVENGERS: ENDGAME. While we don’t know much about the plot of the film, we do know we will see the Quantum Realm at some point! In the recent trailer, we see that Scott Lang aka Ant-Man, was actually able to escape the Quantum Realm (where he was stranded after Thanos’ snap), when he comes knocking at the Avengers’ door!
But I will save Quantum Realm theories for another post! (Like is the Quantum Realm also the White Hole that Captain Marvel taps into when she goes “binary”?)
The Infinity Stones were essential to the plot of AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR. My guess is that at least one of the Stones will play a huge role in not only ENDGAME, but also in possibly defeating Thanos and/or reversing the Snap… maybe? Or am I just looking for a happy ending to the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes’ latest saga?
Here are the step by step directions to create Infinity Stone Cookies, inspired by AVENGERS: ENDGAME!
Ingredients
2 cups of flour
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of softened butter
1 egg
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Blue and purple food coloring
Star sprinkles
Rock candy: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple
Direction
First organize your rock candy by color. If you need to smash the candy into smaller bits, then do so.
Next, combine the flour and baking soda together in a bowl. In a separate large mixing bowl, mix together the butter, vanilla, egg, and sugar. Blend well using a mixer. Gradually pour in the flour mixture until the dough is formed.
Then divide the dough into two equal portions. Place each portion in their own bowl, and tint each dough with the food coloring (one blue, and one purple).
Wrap each dough in plastic wrap, and place in the refrigerator for one hour.
Next, roll out each dough into a rectangle (aim for 10″ x 7″, but it does not need to be perfect). It helps to place the dough between two sheets of floured wax paper when rolling it out.
Once that is one, place the purple dough on top of the blue dough. Starting on the edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Wrap in plastic wrap, and place in the freezer for one hour.
Go ahead and preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Then unwrap the log and cut into slices, around 1/4 inch thick.
Place the slices on a cookie sheet, and add the star sprinkles on top. Depending on whether you are going for a galaxy or Quantum Realm look, feel free to add any other color sprinkles.
Bake the cookies for 10 to 12 minutes. Allow them to cool for a minute or two on the cookie sheets. Then add your rock candy on top to represent each Infinity Stone!
Or if you are looking for a more savory dish to prepare for the film’s upcoming release, check out my ‘Cheeseburger’ Boston Baked Beans Skillet recipe, inspired by Captain Marvel. While her self-titled film will not arrive in theatres until March 8, comic books fans already know that Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel, is one of the most powerful Avengers around!
And speaking of the Avengers…
