So the past year my son has really been into trucks and trains. I mean REALLY into them. Anytime he spots a truck while we are out on the road, but the next 5 minutes all I’ll hear is him repeat the word “truck” over and over again. As for trains? If he hears the theme songs from Thomas and Friends or Chuggington, you bet he will come running in gleefully yelling “trains!” as loud as he can. Luckily our local plant nursery sets up fabulous toy train display that we take him to often to get his “train fix.”
We don’t always have time to pack up and drive over so my son can watch the trains. Luckily for us, Marshall Publishing has the Lots & Lots line that offers award-winning DVDs, Books, CDs, CD-roms, and broadcast and internet programming! They cover all kinds of topics include animals, monster trucks, fire trucks, motor sports, and more! Other subjects include rockets and space, jets and planes, and monster trucks.
Marshall Publishing generously sent our son Lots & Lots of Toy Trains and Lots & Lots of Trucks on DVD, and the audio CDs! My son was super excited as I pulled them out of the package. They’ve been super fun to watch as an after dinner treat!
With the Toy Train DVDs, you’ll see quite colorful and exciting model trains as they chug along the railroads. There are various themes, but I do think the fact that Christmas trains are included make these DVDs a great holiday gift for any train fan! If you are kids are a fan of legos, they’ll enjoy seeing the Little Brick Lego Trains.
For those who are familiar with toy trains, the DVDs also include scenes from the Toy Train Barn in Argyle, Wisconsin, and trains from the Chicago Botanic Garden and the Morton Arboretum. My son really liked the scenes from TRAINFEST which is the largest operating railroad show in the US! I could not believe the detail that goes into these trains. Quite impressive!
The Lots & Lots of Trucks DVDs are perfect for anyone who loves trucks. My son went crazy when he saw the “big trucks” up on our TV. The DVDs feature all kind of trucks of all sizes, shapes, and colors. There are plenty of Big Rigs and garbage trucks throughout the movie. If your little one is really into construction, they’ll enjoy the dump trucks and bull dozers that are featured.
All these DVDs included fun sing-along music from James Coffey. The tunes are family-friendly and quite catchy for your little ones. We often played the CD from the Trucks DVD in the car. It was so cute watching my son bop his head along to the melody.
If a special child in your life really enjoys trains or trucks, then you’ll definitely want to get out the Lots & Lots series for a holiday gift this year. As I stated above, there is quite a variety of other topics. Take a browse and see if any are of interest! These DVDs are great, and definitely keeps your child engaged with the vibrant visuals and fun songs.
To get in the holiday spirit, check out the Magical Christmas scene from Lots & Lots of Toy Trains!
