After I became a mom last year, I found myself documenting life a little more. I didn’t want to miss and moment and hoped to capture it all. This means, I had to upgrade my camera. Now with the big investment in a camera, it makes sense to find a good quality camera bag for not only easy travel, but to protect your camera and all its accessories. I was sticker shocked when I looked at the prices of most bags! I wanted to find a bag of good quality, but was worried about the prices I was seeing. Luckily, Portare’ creates beyond awesome multi-purpose camera bags at prices that won’t break the bank!
Portare offers both backpack and messenger style camera bags. Withe numerous storage pockets and extra padding, these bags are great for not only storing your camera and accessories, but also your laptop, iPad, or other necessities.
The backpack I received is the PBP2 multi use SLR camera, laptop and iPad backpack. Yes, it is designed to hold all three items and more! My camera fit comfortable inside, and I love that every divider is detachable. You can move them around to fit your camera and accessories. The main compartment can holds most SLR bodies with or without attached lenses. Since they attach via velcro, it really is an easy way to configure your bag. The backpack is constructed from heavy duty 1680 Denier ballistic nylon, which you can tell from just feeling it that the nylon is of a nice quality. Since the bag is so durable, I actually used it for other non-photography needs. For instance, I used the backpack as a regular hiking bag, and even a few times as the diaper bag for walks in the park! There is so much room for diapers, sippy cups, extra clothes, and then the gear I need. Plus, it is a lot more stylish than lugging around my regular diaper bag. Since it is backpack style, it makes it much easier to keep my hands free.
Now as I mentioned before, the backpack has a dedicated laptop compartment. It measures 16″ x 10″ x 2″, which then fits most 17″ laptops. Unfortunately, my laptop was too big. There is a compartment for smaller electronics, such as an iPad or other type tablets. Taking a tripod with you? There are also straps on the side hold that can hold your bulky gear, like a tripod Another aspect I really love are the “anti-theft” buckles. This provide extra security when carrying around your equipment. Makes it harder for someone to just come up and unzip your bag.
Now I do want to point out how incredibly comfortable the backpack is to wear! The adjustable shoulder straps are padded and provide comfort if you are wearing the bag for long periods of time. The design is quote unique in that it provides an ergonomic and dry (non-sweaty) fit.
Overall, this is an amazing gift for any photographer, whether amateur or professional! If you loved one travels often or let’s say is really into hiking and photographing nature, this is the bag for them! They will definitely be impressed when they awake that holiday morning to find a Portare’ bag with their name on it!
