Check Out Upcoming Home Entertainment Releases from Disney: Nashville, Scandal, Super Buddies & The Little Mermaid! + #Giveaway

While I attended an expense paid trip by Disney to the Monsters University Premiere and other events, all opinions are 100% my own.

As part of my trip out to California for the Monsters University Premiere, I had the privilege to visit the Walt Disney Studios. There my fellow bloggers and I were able to get a sneak peek of bonus content for a few of the upcoming Disney Home Entertainment releases! David Jessen, the Vice President of Content Enhancement Production, gave a brief presentation on the projects. He is actually the one who picks and chooses what bonus content will go onto each Blu-ray/DVD release! How awesome is that job?

DisneyHEWe were able to preview features from the television shows Nashville and Scandal (I love Scandal!!!), as well as content from the movies Super Buddies, and The Little Mermaid: Diamond Edition. Super Buddies is a movie I’m sure my son will absolutely love. As for the Little Mermaid, I can’t wait for this film to come back out! I remember seeing it several times in the theater as a little girl. Still one of my Disney favorites!

Nashville

NashvilleSeasonOneDVDI admit, prior to the sneak peek, I had never seen Nashville before. My friends have raved about it, so I think now I might just have to check it out! During this session, we watch Lennon and Maisy Stella, who play the Conrad Sisters on the show, sing their version of The Lumineer’s Ho-Hey. Those girls are so talented! Guess I need to watch Season 1 ASAP so I’m ready when Season 2 premieres.

Rayna Jaymes is the reigning Queen of Country, yet hot young diva Juliette Barnes is poised to knock her off her throne. Scandal

This is the show that I got all my friends hooked on. Trust me, if you aren’t watching Scandal, you need to catch up on Season 1 and 2 ASAP! We were treated to a special feature on the mysterious character “Huck”, in relation to an episode that reveals more information on his background.

For Olivia Pope and Associates, cleaning up other people’s messes takes a shattering personal toll. Season Two blows the lid off Quinn’s identity, exposes Huck’s dark past, and uncovers Olivia’s darkest secret – something so shocking and enormous that it threatens the entire nation. Super Buddies

Super Buddies is their latest release that will have any superhero fan giddy with excitement. I love that this film combines two things my son loves… superheroes and dogs. I can’t wait for him to catch Super Buddies when it comes out!

An ordinary day at Fernfield Farms turns extraordinary when Budderball, Mudbud, B-Dawg, Buddha and Rosebud discover mysterious rings that grant them each a unique super power. Before you can say, “Buddies, assemble,” the pups unleash their amazing abilities and race to the rescue when a shape-shifting bully from outer space threatens the planet. But can they succeed in kicking major tail without revealing their new secret identities?

A must-own movie event packed with laughter, action and incredible new characters, ‘SUPER BUDDIES’ proves when you use your wits and work together, you don’t need super powers to be a super hero!

The Little Mermaid: Diamond Edition

I can’t tell you how excited I am for the Diamond Edition of The Little Mermaid to be released October 1st! I still remember seeing this movie several times in the movie theater as a little girl. It is still one of my favorite Disney classics! I think I actually still have the VHS somewhere buried in my home. I’m pretty sure it is time I upgrade to a copy I can actually watch!

One of the coolest bonus features that we got a sneak peek of is Grammy®-Nominated Recording Artist Carly Rae Jepsen in a music video for her own rendition of the song “Part of Your World“! How awesome is that? The video was so cool, and I loved hearing an updated version of this classic Disney song.

Ariel (voiced by Jodi Benson), is a free-spirited mermaid, who is off on the adventure of a lifetime with her best friend, the adorable Flounder (voiced by Jason Marin), and the reggae-singing Caribbean crab Sebastian (voiced by Samuel E. Wright) at her side. But it will take all of her courage and determination to make her dreams come true—and save her father’s beloved kingdom from the sneaky sea witch Ursula (voiced by Pat Carroll).
