Mingling with the Moms of ABC Family ~ #ABCFamilyEvent

You know what every busy working mom needs in her life? Some time to just relax! While out in Los Angeles for press events, the 24 other bloggers and I were busy busy busy busy. Luckily though ABC arranged for us to enjoy a fun Cocktails & Mommy Mingling Mixer over on the Disney lot after a long day of hard work. Of course after a busy day I was ready for a cocktail, but that’s wasn’t the best part…

Attending the mixer was also Marlee Matlin and Constance Marie from Switched at Birth, and Holly Marie Combs and Laura Leighton from Pretty Little Liars! How awesome is that?

All the ladies were so personable and friendly. It was great chatting with them and getting tips on how to handle life as a working mom! Plus they love to take selfies just like us bloggers.

I first got to chat with Laura Leighton, who plays Ashley Marin on PLL. Though I actually remember her as Sydney from Melrose Place! She has four children herself who’s ages range from 22 to 9 if I recall correctly.

A few moments later Holly Marie Combs, who plays Ella Montgomery on PLL, came over and joined the table. She has three boys all under the age of the 10.

When chatting with them you start to realize they are MOMS just like US. They still have to run the kids to their sport practices, make it to school events, and pretty much only take jobs when they can fit into their kids’ schedules. Their children are their number one priority, not acting. It was cool to see that they too understand the craziness of juggling a hectic schedule of working and being a mom.

I then was able to chat with Marlee Matlin, who plays Melody Bledsoe on SWAB, with the help of interpreter. So funny to hear her stories of how strict she is with her kids. May have something to do with being married to a police officer! Her four children range from 11 to 18 years old.

I found out that Constance Marie, who plays Regina Vasquez, has a 5 year old daughter. So she completely understood my struggle of being a working mom to an oh so energetic little one (my son is 3)! The stories she had to tell about her daughter were absolutely hilarious!

Also it was really fun to see the real life chemistry between Constance and Marlee. You could really tell their are true friends and real life and enjoy working together!
