Mia Mariu ~ Botanical Skincare and Mineral Makeup ~ #Review & #Giveaway

I’m a makeup girl. Yes, I get giddy with excitement when I spot new products at the cosmetic counters at my local department stores.  I’ll admit, even when I head to like the grocery store, you will find me with at least some makeup on. I just cannot get enough of it! However, lately I’ve been having trouble finding makeup that is not only effective, but affordable. I was more than thrilled when I learned about Mia Mariu. Could this potentially be my new go-to brand? I was happy that their prices fit my budget, but I was even more excited to see if their mineral makeup and skincare worked well with my complexion and skin type.

When researching on this company, one aspect that jumped out to me is Mia Mariu’s philosophy of the connection between beauty and health in harmony. Their products are created with the most natural ingredients available. This helps your skin achieve glowing beauty on the outside, which then gives you the confidence and health on the inside. I love that they use various botanical elements, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and peptides to formulate their skin care and makeup products. Their goal is to “provide a perfect balance that reflects itself through youthful, healthy, beautiful, glowing skin and renewed energy and vitality, at an exceptional value.” Reading this made me even more excited to try their products because ever since giving birth, my skin has been giving me nothing but trouble.

Mia Mariu generously sent me their Luminous Lip Gloss in Dulzura, the Perfecting Finish Mineral Cream Concealer in Vainilla, and the Mineral Eyeshadow Duo in Romance de Otono.

So let’s chat about the lip gloss first. I love that all their lip gloss contains Vitamin A, C, and E. This definitely helps in keeping your lips moist and nourished! Dulzura is pink in color, which seems to go best with my skin color. I love the sparkling shine the glass gives off. I’ve been wearing it almost every day since the makeup arrived at my doorstep.

The lip gloss stays nicely on your lips, but isn’t sticky like other brands out there. I love that the shade seems to complement both a day and night look.

As for the concealer, I’ve had trouble finding something that wasn’t quite oily on my skin. I love that the oil-free Perfecting Finish Mineral Cream Concealer works effectively to cover any blemishes on my skin. This product also contains Vitamin A, C, and E. The concealers is also great for dark spots and any uneven skin tones you may have.

Even though my foundation was of a different brand, the concealer mixed in quite well. or a chalky look. According to Mia Mariu, the concealer can also be used to hide rosacea and even severe pigmentation. I don’t suffer from either of these, but I still found the product quite effective. Below is the product BEFORE blending.

Now for the eye shadow! I love that Mia Mariu offers color duos. I always like to wear more than one color shadow to give more of a dimensional look. The eyeshadow is made with pure minerals and natural color pigments! I found this product covered my eyelids quite easily. I always use a little primer, so the shadow stayed on for quite some time. I rarely had to touch up! There wasn’t any fading the creasing was very minimal if that. The kit comes with a multipurpose brush and a petite detail brush. This is a great tool for creating a highlight or defining your brow.

The color I choose was brown and beige in color. I applied and blended for a natural day look. However in the evening, if I wanted to go darker or a little smokey, I applied the shadow straight on with minimal blending. The image on the left is the shadow brushed straight on, while the right displays blending.

Overall I was very happy with the Mia Mariu cosmetics that I tried. I take the lip gloss wherever I go and it has become quite a staple in my purse! I love that Mia Mariu is more affordable than the previous makeup I was using. The formulas are still highly effective and I get to save compared to other brands I used to purchase. I think I found my new go-to brand! Since I’ve been happy with the cosmetics, I can’t wait to try their skin care products. I think a combination of the two will have my skin glowing even more in no time!
