Now you may be thinking, “who is Brandy Alexander???”. Well, it’s not really who, as it what is a Brandy Alexander. As a fan of both chocolate, and cocktails, I do enjoy a Brandy Alexander even now and then. This drink is a delicious chocolate cocktail based off the gin-centered Alexander cocktail.
Made popular in 1920s London, the cocktail quickly became a favorite of royalty celebrities, and well, pretty much all of London. Even John Lennon of the Beatles quoted many times that it is his favorite drink!
So how do you make a Brandy Alexander? Quite easily!
Ingredients
1.5 oz brandy
1.5 oz crème de cacao
2 oz heavy cream.
Directions
Take your liquid ingredients and place them in a shaker with ice. I admit that sometimes I substitute milk for heavy cream. However if you are making the drink for the first time, stick to heavy cream. Pour into a shaker with ice, shake, and strain into a glass, preferably chilled.
Don’t forget to sprinkle a little nutmeg on top! Unfortunately I forgot to do so while mixing mine last night. Enjoy!
Wow, never even heard of this. Had no idea they even mixed brandy and chocolate.
Um, YUM! I would like to celebrate this day! ;-)
Yes please! Lol! That sounds fabulous! I need that right.. now!
I’ve never heard of this but it sounds like something my boyfriend would like. I’m not much of a chocolate fan myself. :)
