My son has always been a little active guy! Recently, he has started having bedtime trouble. When I first heard about Yawning Yoga, I knew my son was still too young for it, but jumped at the chance knowing that one day it would help! Luckily, his cousin (age 3) was having bedtime issues as well. Looks like the Yawning Yoga book arrived just in time!
At last, help has arrived! Yawning YogaTM is a beautifully illustrated and carefully sequenced bedtime yoga book designed specifically to help kids enjoy a restful sleep by helping them establish a bedtime routine that is proven to work. Creator Laurie Jordan has devised a perfect sleep solution that helps relax kids before bed by clearing their minds from worry and stress, and relieving their bodies’ anxiety and energy so they can get to sleep faster and experience a higher quality of sleep.
I generously received the Yawning Yoga book for review! The main focus is to help quiet the noise at bedtime and shift your little one’s focus from “outside stimuli and daily stressors” to stretching, posture and breath work instead. The goal is to achieve relaxation, which will then lead to a good night’s sleep for both the child, and mom and dad!
My son, at 10 months, is still too young to understand the words and what he is suppose to do. I still would read the book to him since bedtime stories seem to put him in a calm mood. He very much enjoyed looking at the beautiful and colorful illustrations by Aaron Randy!
We had a sleepover with his little cousin, who I knew would have a better grasp at the yoga. When bedtime arrived, we all read the adorable rhyming stories together and then our cousin practiced some of the positions. His absolute favorite was the Dog-Tired Down Dog. It did take another 20 minutes after we finished for him to calm down and get ready for bed, but what do you know, he had a peaceful nights rest! We let him borrow the book and his mother has reported that he is sleeping much better! Sounds like a success.
I absolutely can’t wait for when my son is older and he can learn and do the moves and positions on his own. I’m very excited to see how this book will help us with bedtime.

Well, this is going to my 3 year old nephew, who could use some help when it comes to sleeping in his own bed, and for that matter, going to sleep at a reasonable hour too! I love the little guy, but he could use some help with sleep!
