Back in April 9th, I started my new diet journey with Nutrisystem on the Women’s Select Success Plan. My absolutely favorite aspect of Nutrisystem is that everything is already portioned for weight loss and control. The lazy girl in my loves that I do not have to count calories or really measure anything. Nutrisystem has done all the hard work for me! I just grab and eat.
So here I am at the end of the the first week. When I weighed myself, I had lost 4 pounds! Now the plan is set so that I loose 1 to 2 pounds a week. I was more than thrilled to loose 4 pounds. Looking back though, I think I could have lost more. Each day we have My Daily 3 of activity to do. I did not get mine in every day. This is definitely something I’m going to work better on next week. Overall though, I’m happy the number on my scale decreased.
Now let’s move onto the most important part… the food! Nutrisystem sent me both a mix of fresh frozen food and pantry-ready food. Now with any diet plan, I was skeptical about the taste. I can say though, Nutrisystem is absolutely delicious! I have yet to taste a meal I didn’t like.
For breakfast, I either had a chocolate or coffee flavor protein shake with a Nutrisystem entree. I love the shakes! Both flavors taste great and they really do fill you up. I opted to use my own blender than the Blender Ball provided to me. I prefer the ice in my shakes to be really broken up. Using my own blender really made the shakes more smooth to my liking. It was easy to make a shake in a minute, and then grab a Cranberry Orange pastry, or Chocolate Muffin for breakfast. On days when I wasn’t rushing out the door to work, I was able to zap one of the omelets (love the Garden Vegetable ones) in the microwave or enjoy a bowl of sweetened O’s cereal with fat free milk. I used to be one of those people who would run out the door for work completely forgetting to eat breakfast. Nutrisystem makes it so easy and I pretty much have a full breakfast ready to go in minutes.
Lunch is easy with just grabbing a Nutrisystem soup, or a Peanut Butter and Jelly bar and then adding in a salad to get one of my vegetable servings. As for dinner, I’m loving the fact that I can eat pasta and pizza! I actually had to fight friends off from trying to eat my butternut squash raviolis. Pizzas are great in that you can add your own vegetables to once again get in another vegetable serving. I often added mushrooms, peppers, or broccoli to my pizzas. One of my other favorite fresh frozen dinners is the whole wheat crepes filled with ricotta cheese. Yum!
Another aspect I love about Nutrisystem is the desserts! Yes, you can have desserts. I can’t get enough of the ice cream. They offer both ice cream sandwiches and ice cream mixed with fudge swirl or caramel swirl. I could also opt instead of a dessert to go with a snack like honey mustard sticks or cheesy puffs.
So I’m getting use to the smaller portions and am hungry at times. However, with such great tasting meals and desserts, I don’t often feel like I’m on a diet. I do need to do better in getting all my servings of vegetables on my plate throughout the day and making sure I get My Daily 3 in. Looking forward to see how far the number on the scales drops for next week! With me luck!

That is about the only diet that I’ve seen that doesn’t have cardboard looking food. Although I don’t need to lose weight, I definitely need to eat better. I tend to not eat that much during the day because I am constantly rushing. I would like to try this.!!
Great post! Keep it up!!
Great job on your first week! With all the success posts I’ve read lately, I really want to try Nutrisystem!
