The Navy community always has and always will hold a special place in my heart my various reasons. Words cannot begin to describe the gratitude I feel towards the silent professionals who fight and protect our country under this amazing branch.
If you were unfamiliar with the bravery of the men of Operation Red Wing before, hopefully you know the story now thanks to the film LONE SURVIVOR. The film tells a true story of courage detailing the tale of four Navy SEALs on a covert mission, when they are ambushed by the enemy in the mountains of Afghanistan. One of these SEALs was Gunner’s Mate 2nd Class Danny Dietz.
In honor of Danny and his brothers, the 5th Annual U.S. Navy SEAL Danny Dietz Memorial Team Roping and Bar-B-Q Cook Off weekend will take place May 23-25, 2014 in Rosenberg, Texas at The Fort Bend County Fairgrounds! That’s right… Bar-B-Q, music, roping, and honoring our nation’s warriors all in one fun-filled weekend. If you are in Texas (or why not make the flight!), this is definitely an event you don’t want to miss. Also remember… this is all in the name of CHARITY!
Yes, 100% of the proceeds will go to the Navy SEAL Foundation, which is an amazing organization that provides immediate and ongoing support and assistance to the Naval Special Warfare community and their families.
Be sure to connect with the Danny Dietz Memorial on Facebook and Twitter!
All opinions are 100% my own. I have not been influenced otherwise.
