Even though Mother’s Day isn’t until May, it’s not too early to start thinking about what to gift your mother this year! Okay, so I may be a little bias when it comes to Mother’s Day as I’m a momma myself… but why not plan ahead? Moms always cherish gifts from their children, no matter what. So after chatting with some fellow moms, I’ve compiled a list of fun ways to treat Mom this Mother’s Day.
Make a Scrapbook of Memories – Growing up, my mother made us scrapbooks chronicling our childhood events! It’s always fun to look back through these books, and remember what great experiences we enjoyed. Now that I’m an adult, I do the same for my son. However, very often, many of those memories involve my mom too: vacations, holidays, attending local events. Make a scrapbook of recent activities, such as holidays and events, you enjoyed with your mother.
Sweet Treats – Mother’s Day should be a day of indulgence… and for me, that means chocolate! Luckily my mother is the same way. Since dark chocolate is her absolute favorite, I always make sure it is in her package of treats. Think about what sweet indulgences your mom enjoys. Go ahead and gift her with that favorite treat!
Homemade Cards – Store bought cards are nice, but what better way to honor your mom than with a homemade card from the heart! As kids my dad had us make our mom homemade cards so that we could put a personal spin on it. Just because we are adults now doesn’t mean we can’t go the homemade route! Head to the craft store to “fancy” up the card. Use tissue paper, embellishments, and stencils to add a flair of creativity!
Fresh Flowers – Who doesn’t love flowers? I can’t tell you how much joy it brings me when someone gives me flowers. They brighten up a room with their beautiful colors and pleasant aroma. Such a simple but luxurious gift. Plus, I just love seeing that big smile on my mom’s face every time I gift her with Mother’s Day flowers. Have you checked out the selection of Mothers Day flowers at FreshFlowers.au? I absolutely love their gorgeous variety! Here are just a few examples below…
Help with Chores – Now treating mom to a lovely Mother’s Day doesn’t need to be all about tangible gifts. Why not help mom out around the house? Any house hold tasks that need to be completed? Get them done before mom does, whether it is dusting her living room, taking the trash out, or scrubbing the kitchen floors or bathroom!
Breakfast in Bed – So maybe eating in bed isn’t for everyone. Though I’ve always considered it a nice gesture. Enjoy breakfast in your comfy bed? Sign me up! There are ways to make it even more special though. Maybe lay one of those fresh flowers on the tray, or even add some edible flowers. You can also add a nice cloth napkin and fold it into a lovely design such as a pyramid or rose. Maybe turn on some nice music for them to enjoy while dining?
Mani/Pedi Spa Day – To me, Mother’s Day is all about the pampering! Nothing gets me more excited than knowing I’ll have time to relax. Plus there is just something so reinvigorating about getting your nails done along with a facial and massage! Treat your mom to a Spa Day and it will definitely be a much appreciated gesture.

My mom loves sweet treats too. And coffee. It’s funny because she never liked coffee the whole time I was growing up, and now she loves it!

The way to my heart is through massages and wine. Some pizza wouldn’t hurt either.
