While I’m attending an expense paid trip by Disney to the press events for Avengers: Age of Ultron and Monkey Kingdom, all opinions and views expressed are 100% my own.
So here we are… May 1st! You know what that means… Marvel’s AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON has officially hit theaters! Woo hoo! If you are a regular reader of my blog, you know that I’ve been waiting a long time for this film. I’m a huge fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and I couldn’t be more excited to finally share some more details on Marvel’s latest film.
Hopefully you’ve been following my #AvengersEvent coverage here on the blog! For a recap, check out interviews with Captain America and Thor aka Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth, Marvel newcomers Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Quicksilver) and Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), director Joss Whedon, and Kevin Feige, the President of Marvel Studios. Next week I’ll be posting even more interviews with cast such as Jeremy Renner, Cobie Smulders, Paul Bettany, and James Spader!
So let’s start with the basis of the film.
When Tony Stark jumpstarts a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as they battle to save the planet from destruction at the hands of the villainous Ultron.
Got it? Good! Now here are my top five reasons of why you need to go see this film like right now. For real. Right now.
Top Five Reason to See Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron
It’s the Avengers – Need I say more? 2012’s THE AVENGERS is the third highest grossing movie of all time. There is a reason for that. The Avengers are awesome. Period. So here we are… we have them all back on the big screen together once again. Don’t get me wrong. I love their individual films. But these characters have incredible in-synch chemistry. It’s always exciting when they get to team up together.

More Action – I have to say, there are some pretty epic fight sequences in this film. From beginning to end, you’ll get action action action! Now if you’ve watched the trailer (or seen the film), you’ll know that Marvel really listened to fans with this one and brought in the Hulkbuster! Yes you’ll get an awesome battle between Hulkbuster and the Hulk. Want a sneak peek?
Diving Into Personal Lives – When I was chatting away on Twitter, prepping for #AvengersEvent, I asked the Twitter-sphere if they had an interview questions for the cast. I have to say, probably the most popular questions I was asked were about Natasha’s romantic life. Who is she paired up with? Bruce? Clint? Steve? I will tell you that YES, personal life questions are answered. NO, I will not tell you who. (Go see the movie). But if this was a burning question for you… run to the theaters now! You’ll get your answer! However, Natasha is the only one whose personal life is exposed. You do get a glimpse into her history, but you also get a look into the other Avengers’ emotions, fears, and internal conflicts. Also let’s just say we learn a little more about another Avenger’s romantic life… And another… and well, you may want to watch this clip too:
The Scarlet Witch – Okay, I’ll just go ahead and say it. I know when the movie starts she has quite an unfavorable opinion of the Avengers, but I’m loving the addition of the Scarlet Witch to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Her super powers are nothing like the films have explored before. I like that she’s a survivor, and she does what she has to do to survive and take care of the ones she loves.

The Comedic Aspect – Unlike other super hero movies in the past decade, The Avengers keep that subtle little humor. These tiny little moments bring the laughs, even though this film isn’t dubbed as a laugh out loud comedy. Poor Captain America. He corrects Iron Man on his salty language at one point during a battle, and then his team never lets him live it down. Or when Iron Man is examining a cave wall in hopes that there is a secret door, he constantly whispers to himself “Please be a secret door, please be a secret door, please be a secret door.” It’s not long before he pushes the door in the right stop, it opens, and he gives out a little celebratory “yay.” Oh that things that excite a billionaire engineer genius! It’s cute funny moments like that one, that make the Avengers endearing to me.

Also you have to admit, the whole party scene when they are trying to lift Thor’s hammer is pretty hilarious. I *died* when Tony goes to get his Iron Man glove to help pull it and then makes Rhodey help him!
