I’ll admit, I love television. Paying attention to media, I always see and hear of shows I would love to watch or follow. The problem is I just never have enough time! I work 9 hour days, and then when I’m off, I still have all the errands to run, the dinner to cook, house to clean, and most important, there is a baby who needs to be taken care of. Watching television is usually on the back burner. I don’t count the 10 minutes here and there where I put on Sprout for me son so I can wash the dishes, go to the bathroom, fold laundry, etc.
Once the little guy is in bed, and I’ve done my task list for the day, sometimes I finally able to catch some of the tube. Here are a few favorites I’m able to sneak in:
Not family-friendly, but certainly hilarious! If you’ve ever participated in a Fantasy Football draft, or just a football fan in general, you need to watch this show.
Love it love it love it! If you love fashion, this is your show. Twelve designers competing for their own fashion line! I love seeing what creative answer they come up with for Heidi’s challenges.
NFL Sundays
While I don’t get to watch the whole NFL Sunday, my son and I will usually find time to hang out on the couch for at least one of our hometown teams’ games (Go ‘Skins! Go Ravens!).
So the first time I watched the Pilot I was not impressed. I ended up watching this show on a whim during their second season and was hooked! I couldn’t stop laughing, and for me, someone who loves comedies, this is always a good sign!
Reruns of Friends run from 11pm to 1am EST every night on Nick at Nite. Luckily for me, these are the hours when I’m finally free to relax and catch something!

I wish I could watch more television, but it is hard to fit time in like you said! Trying to balance everything is hard. When I do get to watch TV (normally while I am blogging) I’ll be honest, I watch the trash reality TV shows, Teen Mom, Jersey Shore, stuff like that. Those are my guilty pleasures :)
Jenn/Organic Mama says
Right now we’re obsessed with Bones and Breaking Bad. But I’ve also been known to catch an episode or two of Jersey Shore…lol

I don’t watch tv too much, but I do love The League and Friends too. :)

I have a bunch of favorites that i enjoy watching when I have time. Football is big in our home too. I don’t allow my kids to watch much TV, and they don’t really miss it, so there isn’t much family tv watching. Hubby and I enjoy watching Dexter, Trueblood, The Borgias, Shameless, Hells Wheels, Sons of Anarchy and much more.
I think TV has its place, though we catch most shows on re-run because we are just very busy. I see nothing wrong with entertainment, eventhough I prefer simpler life, I like my technology too!

I don’t have any little ones except when I am watching my grandchildren, but I do remember what it was like when both of my kids lived at home. I worked full-time, plus ran them to every extra curricular activity there was, and took care of the house. I never got to watch TV. By the time they went to bed I was too tired to care. Now that DVRs and Netflix are available it is easier for the busy mom to catch up on a missed show (when she finds the time, that is). I am still catching up on old episodes from 20 years ago that I never got to watch, lol! Thank you Netflix!

i hear you on not having enough time for TV!! that’s why i like downloading or netflix so much, of course, I get kind of caught up and sometimes I end up staying up a little late… but it’s worth it.. that’s my ME time! I only do it when the kids are in bed since the shows I’ve been watching aren’t family friendly!

My hubby introduced me to the “Big Bang Theory” show a few months ago. This show is so funny! I also love watching forensic shows like: Dr. G, First 48 Hours, Stolen Voices & Buried Secrets, etc..

I am so thankful for DVR because I tend to spend massive amounts of time nursing and catching up on my shows. I love Parenthood, Modern Family, Greys Anatomy, Desparate Housewives, Hart of Dixie, Private Practice and can’t wait for the next season of SYTYCD!!
