In this day and age, you can never be too safe! Now I live in a pretty safe neighborhood. Though as someone who goes jogging often, I always have to be aware of my surroundings. I always take a personal safety device with me and I thank my lucky stars that I’ve never had to use it! Though wouldn’t it be great to have your alarm, mace, and flashlight all in one device? This is exactly why I love the Stalkinator.
I was generously sent the Stalkinator to try out as a personal safety device. The Stalkinator looks like a super cute red animal like creature, not one bit like any other personal safety device I’ve seen. The device contains an alarm, a flashlight, and a sprayer. The key chain ring makes the Stalkinator easy to attach to your keys, purse, zipper, backpack, and more.
The first part of the device is the alarm. Simply pull out the safety pin out of the lower section and the Stalkinator will give off an alarm of 30 decibels. The alarm does not stop until you place the safety pin back in its place. With the alarm you catch potential attackers off guard and call attention to your situation.
If you remove the “nose” of the “animal”, it revels the sprayer. You can open the device and fill it with a liquid of your choice. You can find a list of suggestions on the Stalkinator website. Lemon juice, watered hot sauce, and onion sauce are easy ones to make right in your kitchen, and all legal to carry. The device sprays liquids in a straight line up to 5 meters (16 feet) away. You can get up to 15 sprays from the device before you need to refill it. I was pleasantly surprised how strong the spray was and how far it went!
The last part of the Stalkinator is the flashlight. Using the LED light at night, you will be able to see more around you and you can keep a close eye on the surroundings. Plus, others will be able to see you! With the flashlight you will be able to see a radius of over 10 meters (32 feet).
I didn’t hook the device onto my keys, but it did hook on just fine to a ring on my purse. For jogging, I chose just to run and hold the device in my hand. The shape and curve of the Stalkinator makes it easy to hold and carry.
Video I took demonstrating each of the safety features:
