I’m just going to be straight out blunt about a recent skin care issue. With the hot humid weather of summer here, I sweat like crazy when I’m out. Now I’m a girl who loves her makeup. Yes, I wear cosmetics nearly every day. So I can admit that the equation makeup + hot weather = sweatiness = skin irritated by pollutants. Yes, the melted makeup gets into my pores and the results make me feel like I have the skin of a high school kid. While no, it’s not severe acne by any means, it is still an issue of pimples appearing even though I’m 30 years old.

So with my skin not in the best condition, I was super excited to test out the Ultimate Clarifying System for Acne Prone Skin offered by Dermagist! I had my eye on three blemishes that appeared and couldn’t wait for them to disappear. Dermagist just doesn’t offer skin care for blemishes though. Their line natural products can assist in anti-aging, skin brightening, as well as daily beauty maintenance.

The system include 3 products: Detoxifying Cleanser, Clarifying Cream, and Scar Cream.

Let me just state what makes this system different from many out there on the market. Dermagist does not use Benzoyl peroxide! This agent while considered effective, can irritate ones skin like crazy! I remember using it as a teen and it would cause red blotchy spots. Instead, Dermagist uses Resveratrol, which I’ll talk more about below.

The first product I used was the Cleanser, which is serves to remove dirt and oil from your face, a common cause of acne prone skin. While the cleanser does scrub your face clean, it also helps provide moisture, giving your face a healthy glow. Since the cleanser also uses Resveratrol Extract, this helps provide an anti-aging agent to the formula as well. This makes the cleanser strong enough to target the pollutants, but won’t dry out or harm sensitive skin. I did not have any issues with sensitivity or red skin while using the cleanser. In fact my face felt super soft after use!

Other ingredients in the cleanser include chamomile extract and shea butter, which actually sooth any redness or dry patches on your face. The aloe vera in the formula helps heal irritated skin, while the tangerine oil provides your face with much needed nutrients while fighting acne.

At least once (sometimes twice) a day I used the Clarifying Cream, which also includes the secret weapon of Resveratrol Extract. The cream really does a great job of calming and soothing the annoying blemishes. I love though that is serves as an antioxidant and provides relief from discoloration on your face. I used the cream after I used the cleanser. I never felt like my skin was too oily or too dried out after use.

The last step I used in the system was the Scar Cream. This helped reduce the appear of old acne scars that still have not faded away, and helps prevent acne scarring in general. The cream targets to heal discoloration and texture issues with your skin. I applied the cream nightly to the areas of my skin where I felt I could see discoloration. Again, left my skin feeling soft and not oily one bit! The cream is a fabulous alternative to paying for expensive laser treatments.

Overall I was very happy with the results while using Dermagist. While my blemishes were not as severe as examples shown on their website, I did see an improvement in the appearance of my skin. I think these products would work wonderfully for anyone with severe acne or issues of blemishes. I loved going to bed every night with my skin feeling completely clean and fresh!
