I was thrilled to have the opportunity to test out and review the Ivory Soap through Influenster’s Mom VoxBox program. If you are a regular reader of this blog, you know I love my soaps! I was super excited to see Ivory included in the box.
What I was most impressed when reading about this soap before I opened the package was all the uses for Ivory. Normally I just use soap as body or facial cleansers. An attractive aspect of the Ivory bar soap is that it is 99.44% pure. Ivory is free of harsh dyes and heavy perfumes. Made up of simple ingredients, Ivory still offers a great scent. While researching more on Ivory, I had no idea that I could use their soap as a stain remover for when I do laundry. I could also shave the soap and use the flakes in my laundry. I love the smell of Ivory so I’m sure it would give my laundry a nice aroma.
Now I loved using Ivory as a body cleanser. It left my skin feeling quite soft and moisturized. Plus, I just love the scent! I used it as a facial cleanser, but a little bit did seep into my eyes. It did hurt and burn a little. Nothing major, but enough that I decided to stick to the bar as a body soap. I used the soap on my son for bath time but had to be very careful not to let any of the lather get into his eyes.
Another use for Ivory that I experimented with was that I used it to soak and clean my hair brushes! I simple took a larger bowl and filled it with warm soapy lather. I soaked my hair brushes for quite some time to get a good deep clean. Simply rinse the soap off and my brushes were fresh as new!
While I think I’ll mostly stick to Ivory as a body cleanser for now (just because I love the smell so much!), I love that it can be used in various aspects. Once the bar gets smaller from use, I think I’ll shave it down and give the laundry flake use a try!
Don’t forget to connect with Ivory on Facebook! On their page you can connect with other moms and dads to share tips with one another on ways to simplify family life and on your uses for Ivory! While browsing around, I saw one mom mention that the Ivory bar was great to use for soap carving projects.
Buy It: You can purchase Ivory at your nearest retailer, including stores such as Walmart and Target. I found Ivory in the soap and body wash aisle of my Safeway. A 10-pack of Ivory bar soap retails for around $4.49 (bath bar size). That is quite a deal! I like that the soap is quite effective, but more affordable than other effective soaps I’ve tried.
I received this product complimentary through Influenster in their Mom VoxBox program. This is 100% my own honest opinion. No one has influenced me otherwise and I was in no way compensated financially. This review is solely based on my own experience with this product.

Hey thanks for the tip about the brushes, I didn’t know that and I HATE the oils and residue that accumulates on brushes after awhile, now I can clean them!!
