If you are an Avengers fan, and love burgers… today I have an awesome recipe for you! Now it’s a little twist on my Bacon Avocado burgers, as inspired by the incredible HULK. Yes, I have Avengers on the brain. AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON opens in theaters this year and I couldn’t be more excited. Marvel’s Avengers franchise is one of my favorites in film today.
Now if you’ve seen any of the Hulk/Avengers movies, you know the one thing that the Hulk is most famous for is… SMASH! For instance, take a look at this screen shot from the AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON trailer below. There you go, an example of the Hulk SMASHING.
Below I’ve included a tutorial on how to create my Hulk SMASH Burger, and yes, you’ll have to SMASH the ingredients together, just like the Hulk would!
The Hulk SMASH Burger Recipe
Ingredients
10 slices of bacon
1-2 lbs. of ground beef
2 avocados
1 jalapeno, diced
2 tablespoons of minced garlic
red onion
Directions
First preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Then place the bacon strips onto a baking sheet. Cook the bacon in the oven for 10-13 minutes assuming they are thinly sliced. Cook a little bit longer if they are cut thick.
While the bacon is cooking, finely dice your jalapenos, and cut up on avocado into small cubes. Once the bacon is done cooking, cut it up into smaller pieces no bigger than a half of an inch long.
Put your ground beef into a large mixing bowl. Add in the bacon, garlic, and jalapenos. Make sure you mix well! SMASH SMASH SMASH! Then mix in the avocado. No need to SMASH as much this time. Though work the avocado well into the meat.
Form the meat into burger patties. Depending on how much beef you added into the mixing bowl, you should be able to create around 8 patties.
Once you have your patties, you can cook them on the grill or stove top. Just make sure though that with these burgers, you cook them more on the well done side. With the avocado mixed in, a medium burger may have the texture of a raw burger. If you are fine with the texture, then feel free to cook to your preference.
If you don’t have a grill and decide to cook on the stove top, the process is pretty easy. Cook the burgers on one side, then flip them to the other side to cook. Cover the burgers and let them simmer to really cook the inside as well. Again, I recommend you serve these burgers WELL DONE.
Another alternative is to cook them in the over at a minimum of 425 degrees. The cooking times will vary, though I still prefer the grill or stove top so I can easily flip the burgers more often.
Now once you have the finished product, add avocado and red onion rings on top to really give the burger that “Hulk” look!
Now I mentioned how I can’t wait for May, right? Oh yes, May 1st the latest installment of the Avengers series hits the big screen! Can’t wait either? Well to hold you over until then, cook yourself a Hulk SMASH burger and check out the trailer below…

That is a movie that is definitely on our must-see list. We’ve even considered letting the kids get out of school early to see it!

There are a few reasons this doesn’t appeal to me (I keep Kosher and also hate avocados and peppers), but it’s a clever idea and I will share this link with a friend who is an Avengers fan. :)
