Today’s topic is “The first time I saw…” and immediately my mind jumped to the first time I saw my son.
After 36 hours in the hospital, with 16 hours of active labor, and 4 hours of pushing, I was ready to meet this little man! When he finally made his debut, it was a rough start. I couldn’t see him, and I couldn’t hear him. Panic was setting in. His Apgar score was a 4. Then soon I heard him crying, and within minutes, I heard them say his Apgar score was a 9! They finally brought him over and placed him in my arms. It was love at first sight!
I can’t remember who it was who snapped this cell phone picture with my phone, but I still keep it in my phone to remember that moment Baby C laid on my chest.
So the first time I saw my son….it was nothing but LOVE.
What about you? How would you finish the sentence “The first time I saw….”?

A great post on the months of both of my children’s’ birthdays. Childbirth is so amazing and good for you for having a natural labor. I had 2 c-sections and mourn the fact I was not allowed to deliver. Our babies are precious in so many ways! Best to you and your children.

The first time I saw my no-longer a baby boy delivered. I had been in labor for over 12 hours when the Dr. performed an emergency c-section after his heart rate had dropped. When I heard his cry and held him for the first time I knew I would never forget that moment and would cherish it forever.

I remember when I first came to Minnesota and saw all the cars with rust holes. I thought people weren’t taking care of their cars, but came to find out it’s from all the salt on the roads in the winter. What a shock that was!
