So the month of June had kind of been a vacation month for me. My BFF and I took off to Maine and once I returned back to Maryland, I turned right back around and headed up to Boston and Rhode Island! While in Boston, as I was headed into the Frost Bar at Faneuil Hall, I decided to check my email via my phone on a complete whim… My sister thought I was absolutely crazy when I started shrieking with glee! I received an email inviting me to Los Angeles for press events, with one specifically related to a movie I’ve been counting down the days to see… Marvel’s GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY!
Now once I calmed down (and had a few ice drinks in celebration!), I pulled the email back up to read it carefully and see what else was in store. Disney, Marvel, DreamWorks, and ABC Family definitely put together an amazing few days in Los Angeles for 24 other bloggers and I to attend press junkets and events in honor of several new films and projects!
#GuardiansOfTheGalaxyEvent
Really… I can’t tell you how excited I am for this trip. I’ve had my eye on the production of GUARDIANS (which hits theaters on August 1st) for awhile now and I have to say it is one of the films of 2014 I’ve been anticipating the most. I mean, do you know how much Subway (yes the large cups and Kid’s Meal bags adorn GUARDIANS characters) I’ve eaten lately just because I’m THAT excited for the movie?
So while in Los Angeles, I’ll attend a press junket for GUARDIANS, as well as interview cast and filmmakers from the movie! Last year I had the opportunity to interview actor Chris Pratt for his role in Delivery Man. During the interview he talked with such excitement over GUARDIANS as he stars in the movie as Star Lord. He couldn’t tell us much, but he raved about what an amazing project it is.
Check out this little guy I picked up at our local mall. This blogger thinks that Rocket is quite appropriate to be my travel buddy for the trip, don’t you think?
Don’t forget to connect with GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY on Facebook and Twitter! Be sure to check out my tutorials for homemade galaxy playdough and for Galactic Space Art both inspired by the film’s upcoming release.
#100FootJourneyEvent
On this same trip, I’ll be able to attend a special advance screening of THE HUNDRED-FOOT JOURNEY, which opens in theaters on August 8th!
I’ll also get to interview actor Manish Dayal from the film, and partake in a cooking lesson inspired by the movie at the world famous Le Cordon Bleu! Now I’m not exactly a culinary genius, but I LOVE cooking! So yes, to say I’m excited for this part of the trip is an understatement.
Don’t forget to connect with THE HUNDRED FOOT JOURNEY on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest.
#ABCFamilyEvent
As for the #ABCFamilyEvent, not only do I get to meet the casts of their hot new comedies Young & Hungry and Mystery Girls, but also the cast of their new hit drama Chasing Life! That’s not all though… My 90210 inner fan girl is super excited to visit the set of Mystery Girls, observe production, and interview Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth!!! Seriously! How awesome is that?
Oh and that’s not all…
I’ll attend an early advance screening of ALEXANDER AND THE TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO GOOD, VERY BAD DAY (which hits theaters on in October). I’ll also get to preview footage from the upcoming Walt Disney Studios animated release BIG HERO 6 (which opens in November), plus I’ll attend a Q&A with the filmmakers!
What a full agenda! I can’t tell you how excited I am for all these press events. Want to follow my adventures in Hollywood? We can connect on Twitter (@AshBG) and on Instagram (@ashb4211). I’ll being posting lots of photos, so feel free to stalk! Make sure you follow the hashtags #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyEvent, #100FootJourneyEvent, and #ABCFamilyEvent.
I received the following information as a blogger via Walt Disney Publications. While I’m attending an expense paid trip by Disney to the press events for Guardians of the Galaxy, 100 Foot Journey, and ABC Family, all opinions are 100% my own.
I can’t wait until 100 foot journey is released – probably on my own at the theater. LOL
