February 5th at 6:30 pm EST, the New York Giants and the New England Patriots will go head to head to see who wins Super Bowl XLVI! As you know, since my family lives in New England, I’ll be cheering on the Patriots. Let’s a take a poll to see who the Maryland Momma readers rooting for! Now usually for Super Bowl, the parties are filled with burgers, fried chicken, nachos, and any other delicious but most likely unhealthy snacks. Try some of these quick tips to make your Super Bowl snacks just a tad healthier.
- Forget the cheese or nachos! Why not try hummus or your favorite chickpea spread? Replace the chips with whole wheat cracks.
- When it comes to burgers, why not use Ground White Turkey meat, or mix black beans into your beef before making the patties. Get rid of the burger buns! Try using a pita pocket instead!
- Want a loaded back potato? Try a sweet potato instead! Skip the butter as the sweet potato already has that sweet taste to it.
- Opt for grilled wings, or skinless.
