America’s Farmers: Meet the Haynie Family! ~ #AmericasFarmers

I grew up in Annapolis, Maryland, that while the town itself did not have any farms per say, there were plenty of farms in the general area. Every weekend, several spots throughout town would host local farmer’s markets. I always remember my mom bringing home fresh corn, squash, tomatoes, and string beans. Growing up I just loved the fact that my family was able to support local farmers and eat food straight from the fields. Those farmers worked hard every day to provide families like mine with fresh produce to create delicious and nutritious meals that weren’t processed. Now with my own family, I try to keep up with that same practice… supporting our nation’s farmers! This is exactly why I was super excited to learn about America’s Farmers!

This year I’ve been doing a bulk of my holiday shopping online. Between work, running a household, and being a mom, it’s hard to go out and actually shop. Thankfully there is the internet! However, like many others out there, I often find myself on a budget. Yes, Cyber Monday ended long ago, but still doesn’t mean that I can’t save. If you didn’t already know, there is bound to be a promo code for any online shop out there on the web.

Lately I’ve been stalking Threadless for their awesome sales and deals. I’ve been wanting to buy my son some new long sleeve shirts for the winter. I’ve always been a fan of their design process and the create prints that are offered on their site.

I was pretty stoked when I found 5 active Threadless promo codes available for my use! We’re talking codes for free shipping, 10 to 50% off, and even free items. I received additional discounts to the savings I was already racking up through their sales. I love that I can use the codes on top of already discounted items. With my most recent purchase, I saved 10% off my entire order (sale and non-sale items), and I also received free shipping!

Since I’m already saving money from the codes, I figured I might as well grab something for myself! I picked out this super cute hoodie that is great now that the weather is colder. I guess that’s the only “problem” with promo codes… I’m able to buy more and my closet is overflowing! Though the savings are awesome, so it is hard to resist.

When I have savings like this right at my finger tips, it makes ordering online that much more attractive! I don’t have to drag the little man around when he’s not up for it. Plus it saves my time and gas, which really means it saves me money. Any time I’m not stuck sitting in traffic trying to from shop to shop, I’m a happy lady! I have to say, it’s pretty awesome to be able to find any promo code I want just like that in a matter of seconds!

Shop Back to School and Help Boys & Girls Club of America! ~ #BGCA

School is right around the corner! In fact, the local kids go back next week. If you haven’t already bought your school supplies, then now is the time. Does your child have the perfect “Back to School” outfit and fashion? So much to think about and so much to get ready for! It can be a busy and chaotic time. It is always nice to have a helping hand during this “Back to School” time. Now my son still has another year before heading to preschool, but I’m still using these Back to School sales to load up on “school” items he can use here at home. I’m sure when he really heads to school, as a working mom, I’m going to need some help getting him ready. Luckily, there are groups like the Boys and Girls Club of America, that offer great programs to assist families in need during this time.

Growing up in Annapolis, the Boys and Girls Club of America had a heavy presence in our town. I always saw fliers for them and or advertisements in our local paper. However, it wasn’t until I started living in Rhode Island part time did I fully grasp the benefits of this group. My home is located right next to the local chapter of the Club. I firsthand witnessed the staff arriving so early in the morning to prepare for the students, and staying so late for Club sponsored events like dances and parties. I would see children happily walk up those stairs after school, and leave with the biggest smiles on their faces when it was time to go home. Many of the children who participate in the Boys and Girls Club of America are underprivileged and need assistance with school, food, clothing, and even love. The Club does such amazing work, that is why I am so excited to share with my readers about how you can help this amazing group.
