Do you enjoy wine, craft, beer, shopping, and food trucks?? Well my fellow Marylanders, this is a post you will want to read. The region’s newest food and wine festival, Taste of Linganore, will take place on August 13-14, 2016 from 11 AM to 6 PM. This year the festival will benefit the Anna’s Gift Foundation. This organization provides activities for hospitalized children/teens and young adults and their families. The festival is presented by Linganore Winecellars and Red Shedman Brewery. Do you know what I really love about the Taste of Linganore? There is something for everyone! Just because the event is at a winery, doesn’t mean you can’t bring the kids along. This is definitely an event for the whole family, young and old.
Orkin Mosquito Summer Scientist #Giveaway ~ #LearnWithOrkin
The weather is getting warmer and the sun is shining longer! That means just one thing… Summer is almost here! Who is ready to head outdoors for picnics, baseball games, barbecues, and more? I know I am! I absolutely love enjoying the great outdoors with my family. But there is one thing I’m not a fan of when it comes to the outdoors… mosquitoes! They not only are a nuisance, but they also pose potentially serious health risks. Luckily there is Orkin and their team of experts that study the science of mosquitoes and other pests. They work to learn new ways to keep them out of your way this summer.

This morning I woke up to an email from GORUCK containing this infograph. I couldn’t help but share it with you, and all the amazing events GORUCK has going on right now!
There are numerous rucks across the nation honoring the events of 9/11, as well as other special events you’ll want to check out. I actually was suppose to be doing the Mogadishu Mile with friends of mine next month. However, I will be on a press trip for Disney. I look forward to the day I can participate, and I wish the best of luck to my friends participating in GORUCK events tomorrow and in the future.
In the mean time, please take a moment to read and really take in the facts below. Please don’t forget to take a moment of silence tomorrow, and please please please, never forget the sacrifices made for our country.
How do you plan to remember the victims of 9/11?

So two years ago I posted about whether pop up shops were becoming a trend on or not. I saw them around town, but it wasn’t until a few weeks ago when a good friend of mine informed that her artwork was going to be on display and sold in a pop up shop, did I start to pay attention again. In my post, I mentioned HERE. a pop up shop. Well I’m happy to say that they are still going strong here in the Annapolis, MD area! If you aren’t familiar, here’s the info straight from their website: “HERE. a pop-up shop will feature apparel, jewelry, accessories, art (originals & prints), photography, gift items, home goods, furniture and more ~ concentrating on LOCAL artists & designers as much as possible.“
The most recent shop will open TODAY at 1380 Cape St. Claire Road in Annapolis. However, like I mentioned above, I’m most excited that my amazingly talent friend, Lee Anne from imonet73 Photography, will have her artwork featured and sold at HERE.! You can see her iPhone only photography over at her @imonet73 Instagram account.
HERE. will have their Opening Party TONIGHT from 6-8 PM. Both the Broadneck Grill and Blue Rooster Cafe will be serving up some delicious food, and Laura Brino (owner of THE SHOP) will be performing. If you can’t make it tonight, the shop opens every day at 9 AM starting today through June 7th.
Don’t forget to connect with HERE. on Facebook and Twitter. iMonet73 is on Twitter too!

I’ve lived in Annapolis off and on throughout my life. Over the years, one of my favorite parts about living here is the wide variety of restaurants and dining establishments. Our unique little city offers a selection of any cuisine you can image. Of course being right on the Chesapeake Bay, seafood (yay crabs!) is the specialty, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have other varieties to offer. With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, check out a few of my favorite local spots to spend the holiday…
