Earlier this week we posted about RILEY’S FIRST DATE?, a bonus feature on the home entertainment release of INSIDE OUT, along with an interview with Kaitlyn Dias and Kyle MacLachlan who voice Riley and her Dad in the short. Hopefully you also caught our INSIDE OUT coverage featuring interviews with Pete Docter and Jonas Riveras, as well as Phyllis Smith and Richard Kind. Today I’m chatting about our interview with the short’s director Josh Cooley and the producer Mark Nielsen! As I mentioned previously in my other blog posts, this short is available as a bonus feature with the home entertainment release of INSIDE OUT. The storyline is absolutely hilarious, and I’m sure many of you out there can relate, either to Riley, or her parents! In this tale, Riley is now 12. She is innocently hanging out at home with her parents, when a boy comes knocking at the door (yes, that same boy from the first film!). The short asks the question… Can Mom’s and Dad’s emotions handle Riley’s First Date????
We had the opportunity to watch the short right there with Josh and Mark. Interestingly enough, they actually came up with the idea of RILEY’S FIRST DATE? while working on INSIDE OUT. Towards the end of the film’s production, Pete Docter and Jonas Riveras asked Josh to start coming up with ideas for a short film to feature on the home entertainment release. Josh pitched several ideas, but this is the one that Pete and Jonas liked the best! From pitch to finish, the short took about 10 months to make.

When we first arrived at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco for the press junket, we were ushered downstairs to watch the adorable Pixar short RILEY’S FIRST DATE?. (Be on the lookout later this week for an interview with the short’s director Josh Cooley and the producer Mark Nielsen!) I have to say, it was quite interesting to see Kyle is such a lighter role! He is normally known for his darker roles in television and film. (Did you see him last season on AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D??? Scary!!) So one of the first questions was for Kyle, concerning recent online polls that name his character as the Number One Hottest Disney Dad! Of course we had to ask Kyle if he had a statement about this…

In honor of the upcoming home entertainment release of Disney•Pixar’s INSIDE OUT, hopefully you caught the interview with Director Pete Docter, and Producer Jonas Rivera that I posted earlier this week. Today I have another special treat for you continuing the coverage of the time I spent in San Francisco. Just a reminder that INSIDE OUT is currently available for home entertainment on on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere. The film will be available on Blu-ray Combo Pack on November 3rd!
At the INSIDE OUT Press Junket, myself and 24 other bloggers had the opportunity to meet and chat with Phyllis Smith, who voices Sadness, and Richard Kind, who voices Bing Bong, in the film. I have to say… these two are hilarious! They were definitely not only insightful about the film, but had great chemistry, and such hilarious tales to tell!
When they arrived, they definitely brought the energy! I love that Phyllis was taking photos of us as she walked into the room. I even was able to snap a quick selfie with them… sort of! LOL. 
Phyllis wanted to know where we were all from. I loved that even though we were the ones there to ask them questions, they wanted to know and learn about us! So after a bit of chit chat, we jumped right into the questions. The interview overall was very warm and you honestly could not ask for two more likable and sweet people to interview.

Earlier this month I posted about the upcoming home entertainment release of Disney•Pixar’s INSIDE OUT! Today I have a special treat for you by continuing my coverage of my time out in San Francisco. I’m so excited that INSIDE OUT is available for home entertainment on on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere right now and will be available on Blu-ray Combo Pack on November 3rd!
While in San Francsico, we had the opportunity to meet with and interview Director Pete Docter, and Producer Jonas Rivera. Both played such important roles in the creation of INSIDE OUT, that it was really cool to chat with the minds behind the film.
So the first question on our minds… will there be sequel???? Jonas mentioned that him and Pete had spent the last five years of their lives working on INSIDE OUT, a film they are very proud of, especially in reference to the characters and world they created. However at this point, they are leaning towards working together to come up with a film that is totally new. Now they aren’t saying there will never be a sequel. Just at this time, they are looking to bring something totally different to the big screen.
