Stay Active this Summer
First off, I’m super psyched that summer is finally here! This means that the days stay light longer. That’s a major plus for me considering I work long hours during the day.
So one of my favorite ways to stay active in the summer is to take my son for long walks around our community. We pack up the stroller and head to the playground! Have you ever chased an energetic two year old around a playground? Forget the long walk to our destination, the chasing alone is a work out! Running around with him not only keeps my heart rate up, but I feel GOOD afterwards. Sure, the humidity gets to me and I feel sweaty, but you know what? I’m keeping active, which is all part of my weight loss plan.
So why are walks in the summer time the best? First off, I don’t have to deal with the cold weather! I can throw on a tank top and running shorts and just go go go. Doesn’t matter if I sweat! That’s a good thing right? For walks in the winter I have to get all bundle up and who knows how far I can go with all the snow on the ground. Plus walking means I can spend time with my son. Of course when he is in the stroller I can speed walk, but it still time spent with one another.
