Less than two years I ago I had the privilege to fly to Los Angeles to enjoy breakfast with the cast of a brand new show that was getting ready to air on then-ABC Family (now Freeform). That show went on to become Freeform’s #1 comedy of all time in Becomers 12-34 and Women 18-34 and wins its cable time period across the key target demographics. That’s right, I’m talking about YOUNG & HUNGRY, which is now getting ready to air its Season 3 Finale on April 6th! And trust me… you do not want to miss it!

Inspiring Future Coders: Girls in STEM + MILES FROM TOMORROWLAND ~ #MilesEvent
I received the following information as a blogger via Walt Disney Publications. While I attended an expense paid trip by Disney to the press events for The Good Dinosaur, Inside Out, and Miles From Tomorrowland, all opinions are 100% my own.
Back in October I shared with my experience visiting the Google Headquarters in California! It was such an awesome visit, and I was able to learn more about Disney Jr’s MILES FROM TOMORROWLAND, one of my son’s favorite television shows, and it’s connection to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
What an absolutely amazing experience! You can read more about about my visit in detail, and check out some of the photos I took on their campus, at the link above. For those that aren’t familiar, MILES is centered around the Callisto family, who live on the Stellosphere, and spaceship! Miles Callisto himself is an adventurous, curious, but at times reckless good-nature boy.
One aspect I absolutely love about this show is the emphasis on the STEM and encouraging children to pursue that field of study. Now my son is only four years old, but thanks to MILES he is already showing such an interest in engineering and space exploration. He actually starts STEM classes next year once he is five! Did you know that by the year 2020, there will be 1.4 million computing-related job openings? Definitely sounds like this is the field to look into!I love that Disney Jr is even taking their focus a bit further and really working to inspire young girls to explore this often male-dominated field. On the show, Miles has a sister, Loretta, who is quite the smart young lady! She just loves science, and in an upcoming episode, she will use her awesome coding skills to discover a hidden planet! Check out “The Discovery Expedition” episode of MILES FROM TOMMOROWLAND this Friday on the Disney Channel at 10:30 AM ET.
New Episodes of MILES FROM TOMORROWLAND Are Launching! + My Visit to #GoogleHQ! ~ #MilesEvent
I received the following information as a blogger via Walt Disney Publications. While I attended an expense paid trip by Disney to the press events for The Good Dinosaur, Inside Out, and Miles From Tomorrowland, all opinions are 100% my own.It was just last week I was out in beautiful San Francisco learning about amazing Disney creations! Hopefully you were following along via social media on my awesome California adventure. If not, have no fear… I’ll be posting regularly the next few months detailing my trip. One of the highlights was visiting the Google Headquarters to learn more about Disney Jr’s MILES FROM TOMORROWLAND.
Now I’m already quite familiar with the show as my son is a fan. MILES is centered around the Callisto family, who live on the Stellosphere, and spaceship! Miles Callisto himself is an adventurous, curious, but at times reckless good-nature boy. My son couldn’t be more excited when I returned from my trip with a Miles themed cookie and plush M.E.R.C. (Miles’ pet robo-ostrich) in tow just for him. Now I’ll chat about my visit to the Google Headquarters in a moment… but first let me tell you about some exciting upcoming Miles news! Since Halloween is my son’s favorite holiday, he’s especially excited about this Saturday’s Halloween-themed episode “Ghost Moon / Stormy Night in a Dark Nebula” premiering at 8:30 AM ET/PT on the Disney Channel.
