March Kidtoons Film ~ The Gruffalo ~ #GlVEAWAY

Throughout the month of March, Kidtoons is featuring The Gruffalo! A mouse is taking a stroll through the deep, dark wood when along comes a hungry fox, then an owl, and then a snake. Since the mouse “looks good” to all, he explains that he’s meeting the Gruffalo! As Mouse explains, the Gruffalo is a creature with terrible claws, and terrible tusks in its terrible jaws, and knobbly knees and turned-out toes, and a poisonous wart at the end of its nose. But Mouse has no worry to show. After all, there’s no such thing as a Gruffalo.

Yawning Yoga ~ A Good Night Book for a Good Night’s Sleep ~ #Review & #Giveaway ~ #mvmgroup

My son has always been a little active guy! Recently, he has started having bedtime trouble. 2011 #Holiday Gift Guide: Howard B. Wigglebottom & the Power of Giving ~ #Review & #Giveaway

I know, it’s not even Thanksgiving yet, though I’m slowly getting into the Christmas mood. However, when the book I’m about to review arrived at my door step, I proceeded to read it to my son that night.  By the time we finished the book, I was ready to pull out the tree and start decorating!

The We Do Listen Foundation is a nonprofit that produces books, games, music, posters, and lessons to help children build self-esteem and keep a positive attitude in life. They believe in helping children achieve inner peace by teaching them to listen, stand up for themselves against bullies, learn conflict resolution, and give them the confidence to know that they can help change the world for the better!

The We Do Listen Foundation generously sent me a copy of their book Howard B. Wigglebottom and the Power of Giving: A Christmas Story.  Just like many of their products, this book follows Howard B. Wigglebottom, a super cute bunny rabbit on his journey of life, learning many lessons along the way.  Not only is this book a fun Christmas theme read, but I love all the lessons taught!  In this sweet story, little Howard realizes how happy he can make others by sharing and giving.  At first he doesn’t like to share, but realizes what an unhappy bunny is keeping his toys from others.  He eventually discovers the joy in sharing with others!

Mommy, can we read it again?!?

Baby C absolutely loved “helping” to turn the pages and looking at the vibrant illustrations!  While he may not understand the words now, I think this is a book he will learn to appreciate as he grows older and discovers the meaning of Christmas.  Reading the book with your children gives you the opportunity to discuss not only the importance of giving, but topics such as homelessness, talking to strangers, paying attention, staying out of trouble, and of course, the spirit of Christmas.
