One of my favorite movies to come out in 2014 was Disney’s Big Hero 6! Have you seen it? It was one of those films that after seeing it in the theaters, I just knew I had to purchase it later for home entertainment. Did I mention it won an Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film! If you aren’t familiar with the movie, it’s an adorable action-packed comedy-adventure about the special friendship that develops between plus-sized inflatable robot Baymax, and technological-savvy Hiro, who team up with a group of friends to form a band of high-tech heroes.
I was shopping at my local Walmart when I noticed upon entering a store a nice size sign advertising the home entertainment release of Big Hero 6! My son was super excited to see Baymax “waving” to him. I just knew then we definitely had to go purchase this movie once it was out on Blu-ray and DVD February 24th. Not sure where to find Big Hero 6 at your local Walmart? Simply look for the big overhead “Movies” sign!

Ever since I was a young child I’ve always been a fan of Disney Animation films. I still remember seeing The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast as a child in the movie theaters over and over and over again! Now that I have a little one, I can’t wait to share with him not only the Disney classics from my childhood, but also take him to experience the Disney magic in the movie theaters for himself!
Back in July I headed out to California for a few days of press events and film screenings! One of the movies I had the pleasure of enjoying a sneak preview of was BIG HERO 6. Now at that time the film was still in production, but from the scenes and footage of the film I was able to preview, I have to tell you, it’s going to be awesome!
First a little background on the film…BIG HERO 6 is an action-packed comedy-adventure about robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada who lives in San Fransokyo (yes that’s a mash-up of San Francisco and Tokyo!). When Hiro experiences a tragic event in his life, he turns to his closest companion, a robot named Baymax for comfort and friendship. It’s not long before Hiro and Baymax find themselves in the midst of a dangerous plot unfolding in their city. In order to solve the mystery, Hiro transforms himself, Baymax, and his group of crazy friends into high-tech heroes!
Pictured above was some great BIG HERO 6 artwork we saw in the hallways of Walt Disney Animation Studios! You can see Hiro and Baymax along with their friends adrenaline junkie Go Go Tamago, neatnik Wasabi, chemistry whiz Honey Lemon and fanboy Fred in their new hero transformations!

So the month of June had kind of been a vacation month for me. My BFF and I took off to Maine and once I returned back to Maryland, I turned right back around and headed up to Boston and Rhode Island! While in Boston, as I was headed into the Frost Bar at Faneuil Hall, I decided to check my email via my phone on a complete whim… My sister thought I was absolutely crazy when I started shrieking with glee! I received an email inviting me to Los Angeles for press events, with one specifically related to a movie I’ve been counting down the days to see… Marvel’s GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY!
Now once I calmed down (and had a few ice drinks in celebration!), I pulled the email back up to read it carefully and see what else was in store. Disney, Marvel, DreamWorks, and ABC Family definitely put together an amazing few days in Los Angeles for 24 other bloggers and I to attend press junkets and events in honor of several new films and projects!
