As part of my trip to Los Angeles, I attended an event centered around the Walt Disney Signature Collection release of BAMBI! Celebrating it’s 75th anniversary, BAMBI hit Disney Movies Anywhere and became available on Digital HD last month. Today, this fan-favorite Disney animated classic is also available on Blu-ray™, DVD and On-Demand. What makes this Signature Collection release extra special is that it includes a variety of new bonus material, like recordings of Walt Disney discussing the challenges and triumphs during the production of BAMBI. Plus there are deleted scenes and character, and you can learn about the stories and effects that BAMBI had on the Studio, other films and artists.
Interview with Donnie Dunagan (“Bambi”) & Peter Behn (“Thumper”) of BAMBI + Chat with Paul Felix (Visual Development Artist)! ~ #BambiBluray
75 years. That’s a long time, isn’t it? BAMBI has stood the test of time and to this day, 75 years later, it is still one of the most popular Disney classic animated features. Did you know that BAMBI is actually among the films selected for preservation in the Library of Congress’ National Film Registry? To celebrate the 75th anniversary, not only is Disney releasing BAMBI as part of the Walt Disney Signature Collection (May 23 for Digital HD and June 6 for Blu-ray), but they also invited myself and 24 other bloggers to participate in a conversation with Donnie Dunagan (voice of “Bambi”) and Peter Behn (voice of “Thumper”), moderated by Disney Archivist Becky Cline! How amazing is that?
A Pirate’s Life For Me! Heading to LA for PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES Premiere & Press Junket! + #BambiBluray Event ~ #PiratesLifeEvent
Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate’s life for me…
I can still remember the first time I rode the Pirates of the Caribbean ride in Disney World at the age of four. I was nervous at first. Being just four, the skeletons, the storm, the dark… it all seemed a little bit scary. But after I survived that “oh so big” drop, I could hear the pirates singing, and I was able to enjoy the rest of the ride! And may have then begged my parents to ride it a few more times… and convinced them to buy me one of those paper mâché parrots from the Pirate’s Bazaar Gift Shop (which I still own and hangs in my loft to this day.)
