The weather is warm, the sun is shining, and my son is out of school. That means one thing… it’s time for summer travel! Whether you are headed to the beach, an amusement park, music festivals, or National Parks… chances are you and your family will come into contact with germs! I know the last thing I want to deal with is germs and sickness, when I’m out on a family trip trying to have fun. No one wants to encounter Sick just got real™ moments when on vacation.
We’ve had a great summer so far when it comes to traveling! There are a few tidbits I always remember when traveling to help keep my family healthy and keep those yucky germs away!
- Always wash your hands! Scrub scrub scrub good with soap.
- If you are taking public transportation, such as an airplane, train, or bus, wipe down the your seat’s armrests and tray with a wet wipe. This will kill germs.
- Hydrate! Drink lots of water and keep on hand hydrating snacks such fresh fruit.
- With a tissue, cover your mouth and nose if you sneeze or cough.
Also during summer travel, it’s important to keep great products to battle the germs on hand. I love that the pediatric brands of Pfizer Consumer Healthcare offer three great solutions – Children’s Advil®, Children’s Robitussin® and Children’s Dimetapp® – to tackle the “ew”iest of symptoms.
When a cough is making my little man miserable, Children’s Robitussin® Extended-Release 12 Hour Cough Relief is my go-to! It helps control and relieve symptoms all-day or all-night. For children ages 4 and up, it is available in grape or orange flavor.
Children’s Advil® is a great solution for kids as young as 2 and up to 11 when it comes to easing the aches and pains. Better yet, it helps reduce a child’s fever fast! It’s available in a variety of flavors including Sugar-free Dye-free Berry, Bubble Gum, Grape, Blue Raspberry, Fruit and Dye-Free White Grape flavors. There’s also Infants’ Advil® White Grape, perfect for providing fever relief for children 6-23 months.
If you have older kids, Children’s Dimetapp® Multi-Symptom Cold Relief Dye-Free is great for easing your child’s stuffy and runny nose. Plus with it’s great-tasting grape flavor, it helps quiet your child’s coughing.
Any three of these products are perfect to keep on hand for your child’s “summer travel survival.” We’ve been lucky this summer, in that as soon as mild symptoms showed up, a dose of Dimetapp® gave him much relief! He’s always ready to hit the road. No cancelled summer plans in this household!
