It’s official!! Tom Holland will have his own Spider-Man film! SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING will be the first Spider-Man movie under the new joint agreement between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures. Last night at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, the new logo was released! As you probably already know, we will get a first glimpse of Spidey action in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, out May 6.
Now I’m already seeing speculation as to what “homecoming” is in reference to… Could it be a spin on Peter Parker’s high school years? I’m guessing from the CIVIL WAR trailer, and by the fact that Tom Holland is quite younger than previous Spider-Mans, that we have a much younger Parker entering the Universe.
Or another theory I see floating around is in reference to Spider-Man’s return to Marvel… Either way, I’m excited to see Spidey make his debut in CIVIL WAR, and can’t wait to learn more about Tom’s solo film. We’ve seen Spider-Man battle a variety of villains in the other franchises. I’m eager to find out who Marvel will choose as the big baddie this time around!
Marvel has confirmed that the film will be directed by Jon Watts, and will also star Marisa Tomei as Aunt May. Right now HOMECOMING is slated to be released on July 7, 2017.
Interesting, I didn’t know more Spiderman movies were going to come out outside of The Amazing Spiderman movies.

How fun!! My son loves all things spider man!!
My daughter is super excited for this movie. My husband and her love to watch them together and then I get to hear all about it for days and days and days lol.
I’m torn on Marissa Tomei playing Aunt May. I remember her from decades ago – I guess that means I’m getting old!
