Last Sunday afternoon, an irresponsible driver in Glen Burnie (about 30 minutes from Annapolis) decided to pass the car in front of him, in a NO PASSING ZONE, crossing the double yellow line into incoming traffic. With that decision, he slammed head-on into another vehicle killing himself, his passenger, and the innocent lives of two others in car he hit. Reading this news story, my heart was broken for the innocent lives taken, especially that of a 3 year old girl name Lily Renee Gross. Brittany Ziegler, Lily’s godmother, was driving her on Marley Neck Blvd, when the driver of the other car made the ridiculous decision to drive directly in their path taking their lives.
The other car hit Brittany’s car, overturned it, and pushed it back 75 feet. Two innocent lives taken just like that. Just heartbreaking. It was first believed that neither Brittany nor Lily had life insurance. A fund had been initiated to help assist their families in paying the funeral costs. This is the original reason I started this post. It turned out that Lilly’s grandparents did have life insurance on her. Lilly’s family is showing the Ziegler Family nothing but generosity when it comes to the funeral costs! As for the funds, the money raised is being split evenly between Lilly’s mom Megan, and Brittany’s mom Shirley to “use as they need it for other expenses that will arise from this tragedy”. If you would like to donate, click HERE for the fundraiser website. The fundraiser will close on December 1, 2012.
