Today’s dare is “Something mischievous I did as a child…”! Truth is, I always got into some sort of mischief as a child. I truly believe because of that, in return, my son is going to be mischievous, even more than he already is!
The first incident that stuck out in my mind was when I was six years old. A toy catalog had arrived in the mail. I was already planning all the toys I was going to circle to show my mom which ones I wanted. She had other plans. She tossed the catalog in the trash.
Later that night after dinner, while my parents were upstairs, I decided to dig through the trash and find the catalog. Through all the thrown-out left overs and other yucky garbage, I could not find it! So I decided to dump the garbage all over the floor till that catalog was in my hands. However, I didn’t want to sit on the hard cold kitchen tile to shift through the mess. So I carried the trash can into the living room, and dumped it right there on the carpet.
Finally found the catalog and started to put the garbage back in the trash can. I figured the pattern of the carpet would hide the huge trash stain I had created. What I didn’t bet on was my brother going to tell on me! I still remember how speechless my parents were. They absolutely could not believe why I had done such a thing. Looking back, I’m not sure why either. Guess that catalog has some awesome toys in it!
What about you? What was something mischievous you did as a child?
Lol well I uses to sneak quarters out of the savings change jar. Those gum and toy machines wouldn’t take anything else :)
haha that’s great! at least you got your magazine, and sounds like you cleaned up the mess too! visiting from blogdare! check out my post http://our365days.blogspot.com/2012/01/blogdare-2012-day-20.html
Ew. I don’t think I ever would have done that, although my Mom let me cut out things in catalogs. I used to cut out jewelry in catalogs, stick tape on the back and pretend it was real. Yeah… Those were the days.
LOL! I would have so done something like that. I used to find my gifts from “Santa”, carefully undo the tape, peek inside and then make sure I closed it back so it would not look like I snooped. One year, I opened all of my awesome gifts to find boxes filled with rocks and various other non-gifts. I never snooped again.
Yup I’m just like Lori. Peeked at the gifts then carefully retaped :)
hahaha that’s great. what a fun blog dare challenge!
I use to put worms in my pockets when I was younger and then take them out when we went places. haha I hope my son doesn’t do that.
Hmmm. I was good at smoothing down the ice cream so you could not tell I got into it.
