Disney has some amazing films coming out this year… However one we are super excited about is MALEFICENT starring Angelina Jolie in the title role. Last night a 90 second sneak peak of MALEFICENT debuted during the Grammys. No worries if you missed it… you can watch the full-length peek below!
The peek features an AMAZING rendition of “Once Upon a Dream” by award-winning, American singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey! The song will be featured in the end credits of the upcoming film. Better yet, for a limited time, the song is FREE for download on Google Play. The download is available through Monday, February 3rd.
Now you may recognize Maleficent as the villain from the classic fairytale Sleeping Beauty. This film is the untold story of a beautiful, pure-hearted young Maleficent, who lives an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom. That all changes when an invading army threatens the harmony of the land. Though she rises to protect the land, an act of betrayal starts to turn her pure heart to stone… It’s not long before Maleficent begins her journey of revenge, and places a curse upon the newborn Aurora, who is the infant daughter of the King who ordered the invasion. As the princess grows up, Maleficent soon realizes that Aurora is the one who holds the key to peace in the kingdom—and perhaps to Maleficent’s true happiness as well.

I sooooooo wanna see this one! Sleeping Beauty is my favorite Disney story and I can’t wait to see it from the villain point of view. I’m also really loving that version of Once Upon a Dream! :)

I can’t wait for this movie, I have a feeling Jolie will do an amazingly awesome job being the bad guy.
I want to see this movie but definitely don’t want my kiddos seeing it as they’re still really young and are scared of the original movie.
