With the sample size I was given, I decided to top the spread on some cheese and crackers. The red on top of the spread is a piece of tomato. Wow is bacon jam delicious! The spread had the smoky bacon flavor, but was sweet, not salty. The taste was very complimentary to the cheese and crackers, not overpowering at all. The ingredients include uncured bacon, onion, balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, water, salt, and pepper! The balsamic and brown sugar gave the spread a very nice sweetness. I would recommend the spread, if not mixed with anything, to be consumed refrigerated, not warmed. I think it I was to use the bacon jam again, I would mix it with a meat patty for a burger, or maybe as a topping for sliders. It was so delicious! As for my mom, who does not like bacon, even she loved it as much as my dad and I did.
