Pretzel Pete ~ Gourmet Pretzel Nuggets ~ #Review & #Giveaway

One of my favorite parts about warm weather is BBQing or going out on picnics. I’m always on the search for tasty treats to add to our meals. Now usually we have flavored potato chips, but I recently discovered a great alternative! Instead of flavored chips, these goodies are flavored pretzels. Pretzel Pete offers a wide selection of flavored gourmet pretzels and pearl-sized bites!

Pretzel Pete generously sent me four boxes (one of each flavor) of their gourmet pretzel nuggets. Flavors included Cheddar & Ale, Honey Mustard, Sour Cream & Habanero, and Garlic & Cheese.

Pretzel Pete also sent me bags of each flavor of their Pretzel Pearls! These pearls are much smaller sized pretzels in the shape of a pearl. Flavors included were Coconut Curry, Szechuan, and Wasabi.

I invited some friends over to taste test the nuggets with me. Of course, I hate to admit it, but I could have probably eaten all the boxes by myself! I really enjoyed all the flavors, with my absolute favorite being the Honey Mustard. I enjoyed the other three, but if you don’t do well with spiciness or hot foods, the Sour Cream & Habanero might not be for you. I love very spicy tastes, so the habanero flavor was right up my alley! When I asked my friends to vote for their favorite, the Cheddar & Ale nuggets won. These nuggets go great with a beer. If you love the taste of Garlic or Parmesan, you really will enjoy the Garlic Cheese one like my friends and I did. The flavoring on the outside of the nuggets does get on your hands, so make sure you have napkins! Honestly though, you won’t mind. The outside flavor adds a nice additional punch in your mouth.

Each nugget is baked with a wide split on top to allow the seasoning to soak deep into the nugget even more.  I’ve never been a huge pretzel fan, but the flavors packed in are more than delicious! Pretzel Pete uses Sourdough pretzels for their nuggets so this creates a softer bite which is then easier on your teeth.

As for the Pretzel Pearls, I did a taste with my family. I’ve never seen another product like these pearls, so I found them rather unique! My family greatly enjoyed the Szechuan and Coconut Curry flavors, but were not huge fans of the Wasabi. I on the other hand enjoyed the Wasabi and Szechuan, but was not a big fan of the Coconut Curry. I think it just comes down to your own personal preference on taste. The Pretzel Pearls make great little snacks to take with you on the go too.
