I received complimentary product(s) to facilitate this review from the sponsoring company. This is 100% my own honest opinion.
It’s no secret I love the great outdoors! Hitting the trail is one of my favorite activities to do when I need to clear my mind. Reality is though, just because you head out, you never know what elements could prevent you from returning in a timely manner. If you are going to head out into the wilderness, having the proper outdoor survival gear is key!
Survival Impact Gear is an online marketplace that specializes in products geared towards outdoor survival. If you love camping or hiking, you MUST check out their wide selection of product offerings. I must say though, if you are like me and actually live in a more urban environment, there is still plenty of gear that assist you with urban survival as well!
As a long time supporter of our military, I’m always happy to feature veteran-owned brands and businesses here on the blog. That is why I am happy to point out that Survival Impact Gear is an online U.S. Marine Corps Veteran Owned and Operated Business! They are also proud supporters of The Semper Fi Fund, a charity very much close to my heart.
Survival Impact Gear carries everything you can think of for camping, hiking, and outdoor survival in general. They offer a wide variety of back packs, duffel bags, weapon accessories, fire starters, first aid sets, lanterns, flash lights, clothing, radios, and even ghillie suits! Don’t plan on being out in the wilderness? They also offer various home alarm systems and alerts as well as pepper spray.
So let’s first start out chatting about the back pack! I was in very much desperate need of a new one. Honestly when out on the trail, I’ve always preferred tactical packs to the standard hiking back packs I usually find in our local outdoor store. Also, and I know this will sound strange, but tactical packs often make great diaper bag replacements! Trust me, as a mom of a little one, I know. Survival Impact Gear generously sent me the Military Police Tactical Green Duty EDC MOLLE Backpack, and boy was it exactly what I needed! The dimensions of 14-1/4″ x 20-1/2″ x 11″ fit quite comfortably on my frame once I adjusted the padded straps. Now if you are like me, and always take a ton of “stuff” with you while heading out, this pack is perfect. There are multiple zippered pockets and compartments to store your items. Plus inside each compartment there are multiple mesh interior pockets! Your items will definitely stay secure within the back pack. Know what’s even more awesome? A back pack like this retails for almost $100, but Survival Impact Gear offers it at just $39.99!!
Another item I was able to check out from Survival Impact Gear is the Smith and Wesson Mace Police Pepper Spray. Living in a more urban environment, I’ve always carried mace with me for safety reasons. I honestly think everyone should carry pepper spray on them no matter if they live in the city, suburbs, or out in the country. So what makes this pepper spray even more awesome than the one I had before? It came in a pink case. Yes, I admit, you might not have guessed it, but pink is indeed my favorite color. So I admit, I completely “squee’d” with excitement when I saw my brand new pink pepper spray. The case serves as a quick release key chain, that easily can be removed from your keys. It is a 2,000,000 Heat Units Spray formula, and it actually works better than tear gas when it comes to incapacitating your attacker. The mace can immobilize them for up to 30 minutes, which should then be plenty of time for help to arrive if need be. Even better, the spray contains a dyeing agent, which actually helps visibly mark the attacker for positive identification. This pepper spray and carrying case retail at the affordable price of $8.98.
Another item that is always great to have on hand, whether in your camping gear, hiking bag, home emergency check list, car emergency kit, or even in your bugging out bag… is an emergency First-Aid Thermal Blanket! This Space® Brand Emergency Blanket utilizes the same super insulating materials that were developed by NASA for the Apollo Space missions. I love that this light weight 3 oz. blanket unfolds to 56″x84″. It helps reflects and retains up to 80% of radiated body heat, while also helping prevent any post-accident shock. You can find this item on their eBay store for just $4.99.
Another useful item Survival Impact Gear sent me was the HUMVEE brand LED-Camping Combo Set. This kit contained a carabiner clip compass, an LED light, and a spoon-fork-knife utensil set.
A compass is ALWAYS a must have when out on the trail. I just never know when I might loose track of where I’m heading and how to return to my starting point. I love that the compass came with a carabiner clip. This made it so easy to attach to one of the straps of my new back pack, or really any pack for that matter.
The LED light is super bright for it’s compact size with a 9-bulb LED. There is an easy on-off push button. The knurled barrel of the light makes it super easy to grip.
The multi-utensil set features a fork and spoon, as well as a stainless steel utility knife. The fork and the spoon can actually separate to become two separate utensils. There is also a can opener and bottle opener in the set.
If you are need in any tactical or survival gear, definitely check out Survival Impact Gear! They have such a wide selection of products that won’t disappoint! I admit, I even have my eye on a few Smith & Wesson watches that would make perfect holiday gifts for a few of my friends.

We are a camping family!! The backpack is perfect for us!! Going to check the company out. Thanks!
My husband would LOVE that – I’m going to see if I can get him something like that!
This would come in do useful! We do a ton of outdoor activities! Thank you!
I need to get myself prepared! Great tips! I have some of this stuff around the house but I guess it does no good if I can’t find it! LOL!
The first car I ever purchased by myself was an Xterra. One of my favorite things about it was that it came with its own first aid kit. I was amazed that it even had one of those emergency blankets. That backpack looks amazing.
I hadn’t really thought about it before, but honestly it makes perfect sense to have things like this at hand. thanks for the push!
looks like great items for down her in Florida for hurricane season. I love the backpack – it would make an awesome diaper bag!
Love that it’s U.S. Marine Corps Veteran Owned and Operated. We love the outdoors – especially my husband so I’ll definitely be checking them out. :)
Since 9/11, that years blackout, and the recent Hurricane Sandy, I always have these types of bags packed and ready to go. I would rather be over prepared than under!
thanks,
Mitch
We aren’t huge on camping but I know my son could get good use out of that backpack. It seems like it could stand up to a rambunctious 7 year old. He would take it on his scouting trips and it would be perfect.
I have that mace! I carry it with me when I walk the neighborhood at night. :)
That’s what we needed! i have to check this out!
I LOVE that this company is Veteran owned! As a veteran myself, I am always more apt to shop where I can support my “family”. Also love that they have products that come in pink! ;)
that is a pretty cool getup- nice to have around!
With my husband being former Military and an avid hunter, we have a TON of assault packs. They range from small for the kids to huge with metal frames. It’s crazy how much stuff you can fit into even the smallest ones if you pack right.
This looks like an awesome backpack and love all the gadgets, perfect for hiking!
Love the products you featured!!
I can’t believe that back pack is only $39.99! That’s awesome!
I totally agree with you that everyone should carry something like pepper spray, just in case. I’ve actually been meaning to get one, but haven’t yet. A pink one would be perfect :)
I need that set. All of it. Heck, I’ll take two…..I wish the spouse would add this to my Christmas list.
Wow, that backpack looks really well equipped. And I’ve never carried pepper spray, but maybe I should start. I haven’t been camping in a long time, either!
That backpack looks great!
Excellents products, I will check it out this online store, thanks for sharing
Make me realized that some of the things mentioned are very useful in our everyday lives. By the way, I am loving the peppermint spray holder.
