PMD Personal Microderm System ~ #Review

I hadn’t been t0o happy with my skin lately. I could still see a few scars from blemishes thanks to my previous pregnancy. I don’t know if it was the weather, but I felt like my skin was dried out and my pores were looking larger around my nose. I know I’m only in my 20s, but I swear I think I see fine lines of crows feet already coming in! Okay, so maybe I sound a little paranoid, but I’m always on the lookout for anything that makes my skin look and feel younger. Unfortunately, I don’t have a money tree to allow me to treat myself to constant spa skin care treatments. Luckily, PMD offers an amazing Personal Microderm System. PMD generously sent me their Personal Microderm System to test out and review! The kit includes a handheld personal microderm device, electric cord, 6 exfoliating discs, a facial cap, a body cap, reusable filter, instructional CD, and booklet. I cannot stress enough how important it is to watch the instruction video first prior to using the system.

It was recommended that I first test out the PMD on a small area of skin to check the my sensitivity to the disc. Luckily for me, my skin could within stand the kit, and no red marks were left behind. Now there were discs for both the face and body included in the kit. Between those different types, blue discs were for more sensitive skin, while green discs were for rougher skin.

PMD uses discs (which contain aluminum oxide crystals) to exfoliate and brush away excess dead skin cells. The suction action from the device stimulates the blood flow in your skin. This helps to the appearance of acne, wrinkles, age spots, scars, and enlarged pores.  The stimulation increases the collagen growth, which makes for softer skin.

An important aspect to remember is that after using PMD you should apply facial toner to neutralize your skin’s pH levels. Additionally, applying moisturizer is recommended so your skin will not dry out after exfoliating. Sunscreen is also great to avoid any sensitivity on your face from the sun.

After using the PMD System for a few weeks now, my skin definitely feels softer and the appearance of a few slight scars are fading. The system was so easy to use! I originally used the blue disc out of fear of hurting my face, however, my skin actually require the green disc and there was no damage at all. Luckily I didn’t have any issues with sensitivity. Please keep in mind though that everyone’s skin is different so it is important to watch the instructional video and doing a skin test first before place the device right on your face. Overall I am happy with the results I’ve seen from using the PMD Personal Microderm System!
