I’ve always been a fan of yoga. I love all the benefits for us not only physically, but mentally as well. While pregnant, I couldn’t wait to take “Mommy and Me” type yoga classes. I was more than thrilled to learn about Playful Planet’s Storyland Yoga!
Geared towards children ages 3 to 8, Storyland Yoga takes your family on an imaginery adventure where they will learn yoga by imitating animals as they hear the story of the Condor or the Whale. What is also great about this yoga for kids program is the eco-friendly message it conveys, teaching your little ones how they too can help the plant!
Storyland Yoga is the winner of several awards including Parent’s Choice Approved, Dr. Toy’s “Best Green Product”, and “Preferred Choice” by Creative Child Magazine.
Now since my little one was too little to participate, he watched as I was joined by children of two of my friends. The boy (age 7) and the girl (age 4) both stayed engaged and loved learning about the animals and nature! I found that even though this is a kids yoga DVD, I still felt I was able to greatly benefit from the yoga poses. I felt refreshed, with my muscles loose, after the programs. This is definitely great fun for the whole family. What I love most is that you are up and moving. It is a family activity where you aren’t just sitting around on a couch. Plus I love the “green” message of the programs.
Both programs are conducted by Certified Children’s Yoga Instructor Ahmed Fahmy. Ahmed is friendly and easily engages the children in the adventures. He talks to children at their level and easily explains the postures in a fun way that little ones of all ages understand. I was very impressed with his imaginative storytelling!
The Condor Trek runs for 23:10 while the Save The Whale runs for 18:30. Keeping with the theme of eco-friendly, a portion of the proceeds from the DVD are donated to the “Save the Whales” and “Kids vs. Global Warming” Foundations. Plus, the DVD is packaged in 100% recycled materials!
Snyopsis from the DVD Back Cover:
Storyland Yoga is a fun-filled adventure that infuses children with an eco-conscious message. Two unique stories, “Save the Whale” and “Condor Trek” engage a child’s imagination through storytelling. Kid’s learn yoga postures by becoming part of the story and imitating animals. Yoga is great exercise and helps to calm children giving them greater focus and increased clarity. Storyland Yoga is equally fun for parents and family members who can benefit from yoga, while enjoying ‘organic time’ with their children.

I totally want to get this for my 4 y.o. daughter. She sees me doing my workout & totally wants to get into it, but it's not for kids. This would be great for her and it's something we can do together. Thanks for the giveaway!
