Such in every pirate story, the tale always features the pirate’s first love… the sea! So of course it should not be a surprise that the PIRATES OF CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES premiere featured not a red carpet… but a BLUE carpet, mimicking the deep sea ocean that Captain Jack Sparrow and his crew often sail upon. While “sailing” down the carpet, everywhere I looked, I saw pirates! Mystic fog rolled along to give a deep sea vibe, as well as the fishermen nets and seaweed that lined the rails. Taking place at the famous Dolby Theater, the DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES premiere was quite an experience, and definitely one to remember!
At the entrance we were greeted by “rocks” representing the Devil’s Triangle, which plays an intricate part in this film.
As we walked along the carpet, we encountered pirates every which way! Luckily for us, these were the friendly kind of mateys. No walking the plank for me!
Premieres are always such unique and memorable experiences! I’m not a celebrity, I know that. Walking a Hollywood carpet isn’t an every day event for me. It’s always great to look back on the photos that reflect these fun memories!
Now if the Dolby Theater sounds familiar to you, I’ll tell you why. This is where the Oscars take place!
Of course I couldn’t resist getting my photo snapped on the famous Oscar stairs. I’ve stood on these stairs before, but this was my first time actually entering the doors of the Dolby!
Once inside the Theatre, we had the chance to attend a pre-party. PIRATES themed decor was everywhere.
The themed extended to the food and drink as well. There were Caribbean inspired treats such as friend plantains with avocado salsa. The sea inspired Red Snapper Shooters were delicious too.
One of my favorites? Pirate Punch! I mean it’s a pirates themed film. You have to have rum at any pre-party! That’s just a given!
When walking in to browse the activities, I couldn’t help but notice a “make-up touch-up” area. Professional make-up artists, in partnership with LORAC, where on hand to touch-up our makeup. Of course I was more than happy to take advantage of this opportunity. I’d want to look my best for the party, right? This makeup artist had the magic touch. I looked about 5 times better once she was done with all the beauty fun. (Thank you LORAC!!)
If you love makeup and pirates, you definitely need to check out the amazing PIRATE themed palette from LORAC. You can find it in your local KOHL’s or Ulta.
Next I headed over to the air brush tattoos. I was proud to show my pirate pride by sporting a Jolly Roger, complete with glitter.
Plus you have to love green screen and photo booth fun!! It was great to walk away with fun mementos like the card below to remember the night…
… but it’s even better when you can take pirate selfies with your gorgeous friends! Definitely make sure you check out the hashtag #PiratesLifeEvent to see my 24 fellow bloggers in their beautiful premiere outfits, and their #PiratesLife photobooth pics!
It was a great time not only enjoying the party with friends, but exploring the Dolby as well. It’s crazy to think about all the Hollywood legends who have ridden in this same elevator!
As the party lights flashed to signal for us to head into the theatre, we were treated to popcorn and gold coins. How fitting! It was so surreal to walk into the theatre, knowing the history of the Dolby. We sat in the orchestra section where all the Oscar nominees sit!
As we took our seats in the theater, we were excited to see the cast take the stage! I’ve been to a number of Hollywood premieres, but this is the first time I’ve attended one at the Dolby where the cast walks out before the screening. It was an awesome moment!
