It’s no secret I’m a huge fan of the HERSHEY’s COMPANY! Since this cold winter keeps me inside for the most part on weekends, I’m taking that time to play around in the kitchen. Anyone else ever eat peanut butter and banana sandwiches growing up? I did! One of my favorite recent creations is a Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Banana Bread, in honor of that childhood lunch. Check out the my easy tutorial below!
Ingredients
2 to 3 very ripe bananas, peeled
1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
1/3 cup of melted butter
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of HERSHEY’s Natural Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
1/2 cup of sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Pinch of flour
2/3 of cup of HERSHEY’s Semi-Sweet Chocolate Mini Chips
1/3 cup of REESE’S Peanut Butter Baking Chips
1/4 cup of HEATH English Toffee Bits
Directions
First you’ll want to preheat the oven to 350°F. Take a standard size loaf pan and grease or butter the sides. I like to place parchment paper in the pan, and then add my cooking spray on top to the sides.
In a large mixing bowl, mash up the ripe bananas with a fork until completely smooth. Stir in the melted butter so that it blends into the mashed bananas. Add in your baking soda and salt, and next stir in the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract. Once it is all blended well, mix in the flour.
Now in a separate bowl, add in your Chocolate Mini Chips and Peanut Butter Baking Chips. Add in the bit of the flour, and coat all the Chips. Once that is done, add them to the banana bread batter.
Next pour the batter into the loaf pan. Take your Toffee Bits and sprinkle them on top of the loaf. It’s okay if you don’t use the entire 1/4 of a cup.
Then bake the loaf for 50 minutes to 1 hour, or until you can prick a fork into the center of the bread and it comes out clean.
Once the bread is finished baking, allow it to cool completely on a rack. Remove from pan, slice, serve, and enjoy!
I love that this banana bread includes fun elements such as the peanut butter and chocolate chips. HERSHEY’s offers a great variety of baking chips and mix-ins that help you create such fun recipes!
