I had the privilege this morning to appear on FOX45 to chat about National Peach Month! It was great to chat about this nutritious fruit that is packed with vitamins A, B, and C. As part of my segment, I shared two recipes; one for a simple peach pie, and another for a peach pizza. In this post I’m sharing with you the detailed recipe on how to create an artisan spin on pizza with peaches!
I love the idea of a peach pizza because it combines one of my favorite combinations of savory and sweet flavors. Plus this is a great “better for you” alternative to pizza. It’s perfect to serve at your end of the summer party!
Wholly Wholesome gluten-free pizza dough ball
3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
2 firm-ripe peaches, cut into thin wedges and halved crosswise
3-8 very thin prosciutto slices, torn into pieces
3 oz goat cheese, crumbled
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. First you’ll want to shape and stretch the pizza dough. Use flour to keep the dough from sticking to surfaces. Once that is done, brush the top of your dough with the olive oil.
Then add your sliced peaches, prosciutto, and crumbled goat cheese. Bake the pizza for 12 to 14 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown. Once that pizza is done, drizzle on the balsamic glaze and sprinkle on fresh (or dried) oregano. Basil is another herb that works well with the flavors if oregano isn’t available. Then slice, serve, and enjoy!
