The downside to holding a career outside of blogging is that my position at times takes me off-site. How is that a downside? Because I totally miss awesome reveals such as the BRAND NEW trailer for Disney Animation’s MOANA! So yes, I’m a day late, but still excited none the less. Better late than never, right? I was able to screen some footage of the film while out in LA, and trust me, this movie is going to be awesome. This is going to be far from any typical princess movie. With a great message celebrating the bonds of ohana (family), and epic adventures with unique characters, this will definitely be a movie for the whole family!
Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped – and no one knows why.
This sets the scene for MOANA and the adventures that await the titled character. Based in the Pacific Islands, audiences will meet a spirited and compassionate Island teenager, who sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her adventure, Moana meets the once-mighty, but charismatic and funny demigod Maui. He wields a magical fishhook that allows him to shapeshift into all kinds of animals… but that’s not all. He also holds the magic to be able to pull up islands from the sea.
Before you watch the new trailer though… I just have to show you this awesome clip from GOOD MORNING, AMERICA. Check out Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, voice of Maui, LIVE in Hawaii! He’s performing a traditional Polynesian dance in honor of the upcoming movie!
And now that you’ve enjoy The Rock dancing… check out the trailer!
