Grab your walk-man and break out the mix tapes, everyone’s favorite “bunch of…”, well, if you’ve seen the first GUARDIANS, you know the line! Chris Pratt dropped a brand new trailer for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night! And look at the new poster above. Awesome. Obviously. Like we are super psyched. Totally.
Before we get into the trailer, let me set up the basis for the film. Yes the gang is back (with Baby Groot!!), as they find themselves unraveling the mystery of Peter Quill’s father (which I’ll get to in a minute). Familiar stars such as Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, and Glenn Close all return to the big screen!
New faces include Pom Klementieff stars as Mantis, and Elizabeth Debicki as Kismet (or Ayesha as she is later known as in the comics). Chris Sullivan will play Taserface, and Kurt Russell is in the film as well. This movie is once again written and directed by James Gunn.
So first why don’t you watch the trailer before I start gushing about it!
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Trailer
Did you see that? We FINALLY get a glimpse of Kurt Russell’s Ego (and that he is Peter’s dad!)
So those who may be familiar with Ego, you know that often he takes on planetary form in the comics. I think it’s safe to say after viewing this trailer, Ego does assume a humanoid appearance. And for those not familiar with Ego, he’s a mysteries cosmic being who raises Mantis (in addition to being Peter’s dad).
I’m not the only GUARDIANS fan in my household though… my son LOVES the series on Disney XD!
Marvel’s GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY the animated series, will debut its second season with a one-hour telecast featuring back-to-back episodes, SATURDAY, MARCH 11 (9:00 PM EST), on Disney XD!! Disney XD will also release six shorts following the adventures of the five main characters daily, beginning February 27 on the Disney XD app, VOD and Disney XD’s YouTube. Seriously, how awesome is that?
Season two will follow Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Groot on a mission to protect Star-Lord’s home planet of Earth, when they cross pass with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, aka… The Avengers!! After an epic battle, the two teams come together to save Earth from an alien mad scientist, The High Evolutionary, but inadvertently unleash an ancient weapon! With every alien baddie in the galaxy after this weapon, the Guardians must unlock its secrets before it destroys them.

This movie looks so rad! I cant wait. I hope that if there is another Mixtape, they do another limited edition record of it again. The purple.one from last time is still one of my favorites.
