Now that the air is getting cooler and the temperatures are dipping, I’m always in the mood for food that gives me that warm and cozy feeling. I’ve decided to compile a list of some of my favorite snacks for the season to share with you! Might just inspire you to share your favorite fall and winter with me:
Mini Chicken Pot Pies
The perfect dinner for when you are snowed in is a hot Chicken Pot Pie! Since I could never eat a whole one myself, sometimes I opt for minis as a nice hearty snack. Packed with protein and vegetables, they are not only delicious, but help contribute to your daily servings. No idea how to make them? No worries, I have a recipe coming soon…
Baked Apples
Fall is the season for apple picking! So why not take your apples and bake something delicious? Baked apples always come to mind! Plus it never hearts to add a little maple liquor on top if you are planning to stay in for the evening.
Oatmeal
Good old oatmeal! Simply take plain oats and add fresh fruit for a little taste and sweetness. Sure, you can also add a tad of brown sugar too. Oatmeal is no only great for warming the soul, but it is healthy and beneficial to your heart!
Baked Potato
Not only do baked potatoes taste delicious, but they are packed with fiber! Everyone has their own topping preference whether butter, sour cream, bacon, or chives. I however, just prefer a little bit of melted cheese, and a tad of salsa on top. Yum!
Apricot Canapes
Okay, usually when I mention these, people say “What?” These little bites are the perfect mix of sweet and savory. Short version, take dried apricots, and add crumbled blue cheese on top mixed with a tad of honey, pepper, and chopped pistachios. I love serving these at my dinner parties in the colder seasons!
Now that you’ve seen my favorite fall and winter snack list, I’d love to hear what you love to snack on during this season!
