I am so lucky to live in the land of freedom. I know it sounds cheesy, but I can’t tell you enough how much I appreciate those who fight and defend what the United States stands for. I have family members who have served in the armed forces and have fought in wars. Today I remember them and their fellow country men, women, and even the K9s.
Very often, we try to celebrate this holiday with happiness, family gatherings, and BBQs to say thank you. How are you spending your memorial day?

I’m calling my son, who serves in the Army, and telling him how wonderful, amazing and awesome he is!
I am proud to be his mom.
And then, we BBQ! =)

Great post! Spending my day with my favorite veteran – so blessed to have him home with our family when many of his comrades didn’t make it home safely or alive. My thoughts and prayers are with their families and all families who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country!

MY favorite to watch in DC is the changing of the guard at Arlington. Thanks for the reminder to think about things today!
