Mega Bloks First Builders Party ~ #MommyParties & #Megabloksparty

I was absolutely thrilled to find out that I was selected to host a Mega Bloks® First Builders™ Party by MommyParties! My son is a HUGE fan of Mega Bloks, and with his recent “obsession” with anything trucks and construction related, I knew that this would be a fun playdate to organize for him and his little friends.

When my Mega Bloks party kit arrived I just had to open it immediately and go through all the goodies. Unfortunately I did this in front of my son who was none to happy when I put everything away in the storage closet to save until our party. The kit included a Mega Bloks First Builders Play ‘n Go Wagon, a Mega Bloks First Builders Tiny ‘n Tuff Race ‘n Chase Rig, and an assortment of ten Mega Bloks First Builders ABC Spell! and 1-2-3 Count Blok Sets.

I quickly sent an invite out to the local “Working Moms” group that I’m part of. I knew there would be many children in the age range that Mega Bloks gears towards. Spaces quickly filled up and we even had a waiting list! I think the mention that each family would enjoy a Mega Bloks First Builders toy to take home was quite an incentive to join in on the fun!

The day of the party arrived (September 23rd) and when I pulled out the toys to set up, I think my son was in heaven! Just decided to have some pre-party fun with Mega Bloks before the other kids arrived to join in.

While guests arrived I put out a simple spread of goldfish and juice boxes. We played a game of counting with the gold fish that some of the kids enjoyed! I also had an area where parents could sign up for the Mega Bloks Family Club! In doing so, they were entered into the raffle to win the more Mega Bloks!

The kids had a blast playing with the various Mega Bloks First Builder toys! We had children over from ages 16 months to 4 years old, and of both genders.  Yes, it wasn’t just the boys who liked Race ‘n Chase Rig… the girls did too! Some kids couldn’t resist opening their ABC Spell and 123 Count sets right there. The sets truly are a great teaching tool!

As for us moms, it was great to have a weekend play date where we could sit back and let the kids play with one another and have fun. Most of the mom groups in our area host play dates on the weekdays while we work. While the focus was Mega Bloks, it was nice to connect with other moms and talk to ones I haven’t seen in quite some time.

While many of the younger kids enjoyed playing with the bloks in the wagon, many of the older kids enjoyed racing the Rig around the living room!

I attempted to get a group shot photo of all the kids with their new First Builders sets. As you can see, it wasn’t totally a success. I’d like to think that they were just all excited to play with Mega Bloks. You try to wrangle 10 kids to all sit and smile that close to lunch time! :P Yes, that’s even mine in the bottom right corner crawling out of the picture. Wiggle worm!
