There was an idea. To bring together a group of remarkable ingredients. To see if they could become something more. So when you needed them, they could fight the hunger… that we never could.
If there is one thing I love as much as the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), it’s whipping up tasty creations in the kitchen. One of my favorites is BURGERS! Now if you are a regular reader of my blog, you are familiar with a few of my Marvel inspired burgers I’ve shared in the past…
The Mighty Stuffed Burger, inspired by THOR (for THE DARK WORLD)
The HULK SMASH Burger, inspired by the HULK (for AGE OF ULTRON)
Brooklyn Reuben Burger, inspired by CAPTAIN AMERICA (for AGE OF ULTRON)
So here we are with my latest Marvel inspired burger… The Mad Titan, inspired by THANOS in the upcoming AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR!
I knew with a Thanos inspired burger, I had to go BIG! He’s the big bad villain that all us Marvel fans have been waiting to see go up against Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. For this burger, I went with double patties, each weighing in at almost half a pound! That’s nearly a pound right there of meat! However, this burger is just as big and filling if you decide to use only one patty.
The Mad Titan Burger Ingredients
1 lb of ground beef (ground chuck, pork, turkey are acceptable as well)
Brioche bun
Romaine lettuce
Tomato
Red onion
Colby jack cheese (slices)
Yellow pepper
Blue corn tortilla chips
Mayonnaise
Chipotle seasoning
Adobo sauce
Salt & pepper
Pico de gallo (optional)
Queso (optional)
The Mad Titan Burger Directions
Now everyone has their own preference on how to make burger patties. I took nearly a pound of ground meat and added in a teaspoon of black pepper, a teaspoon of Chipotle seasoning, and a 1/2 teaspoon of salt. I also prefer to make this burger with a 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes. Since my son was going to eat the burger, I did not add that ingredient to the burger meet. However, if you like a kick to your burger meat, I definitely recommend it!
Divide the meat into two different patties. Nearly half pound patties are still big patties. If you decide to cut down each patty to a quarter pound, this burger still comes out quite monstrous! It’s totally up to you and your preference.
Now everyone has their own preference with burgers on whether to grill them, cook them on the stove top, or bake them in the oven. I chose to throw them in the oven. To make them super juicy, preheat your oven to 400 degrees, and place your baking sheet in the oven for 5 minutes. Once the 5 minutes is up, place foil with cooking spray on the top of the sheet. Place both your burger patties on top of the foil. Bake in the oven for 5 minutes. Using tongs, flip them over and bake for another 5 minutes. Then once again, flip and bake for another five minutes until they are cooked to your preference. It’s always a safe bet to stick your meat thermometer into the center of the patty and make sure it is a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees F.
While the burgers cook, cut up the leafs of your Romaine lettuce to appropriate burger topping sizes. Slice your tomato, and slice your red onion so that rings are created. Cut your yellow pepper into strips. Take a pan and place it over medium heat. Roast both your onion rings and pepper strips until they are each tender. I usually opt not to add any oil into the pan, and these toppings still turn out tender. Take a handful of your blue corn tortilla chips, and crush them so that they are more bite-size, as if you would sprinkle them as a topping.
Now back to the toppings! You can purchase Chipotle mayonnaise in grocery stores. However I like to make my own. I take a half a cup of mayonnaise, and mix in one tablespoon of adobo sauce. Then I add in at least a half of teaspoon of Chipotle seasoning. However I like to add in even more for that extra kick.
Now that you have your ingredients ready… check out how they resemble the Infinity Stones as seen on the Infinity Gauntlet, the powerful artifact very much desired by Thanos, the Mad Titan himself!
Now I like to toast my Brioche bun as well. You can do this by slicing the bun in half, and laying each side face down in a pan over medium heat. Heat the bun until you can feel that the bun is toasted.
Then spread your Chipotle mayonnaise onto each side of the bun. This “orange” sauce represents the Soul Stone, which we have yet to see make an appearance in the MCU.
Please a piece or two of Romaine (Time Stone) on top of the bottom side of the bun. Then top the Romaine with a slice of tomato (Reality Stone).
Next comes one of the burger patties topped with the melted Colby Jack cheese.
Now remember those blue corn tortilla chips (Space Stone) you crushed up? Sprinkle some of them on top of the cheese. This provides a nice surprise CRUNCH in the burger!
Next comes your second layer of Romaine, tomato slice, and another patty with melted cheese!
The representation of the Time Stone and Reality Stone, are now complete!
Then on top of the melted cheese, add your yellow pepper strips to represent the Mind Stone!
Now let’s add your Power Stone aka the red onion rings.
It’s optional whether you wish to add the Pico de Gallo onto your burger or not. This burger is already HUGE with a lot of toppings. So feel free to skip if you wish!
Finally let’s add on more of the crushed blue corn tortilla chips.
Finish off the burger with the top bun and you are good to go!
Since the burger is created with a bit of kick and southwest flavors, I like to enjoy it with a side of chips and dip! The blue corn tortilla chips come in handy as a side as well.
For the dip, I just take queso, and mix in the Pico de Gallo! Kind of completes the meal, don’t you think?
Now it’s a big burger, I know. I mean, this is nearly a pound of meat!!! And when you think about it… Thanos is One. Big. Dude. Since the Mad Titan and his quest for the Infinity Stones is what inspired the burger, you can still create and enjoy the Mad Titan Burger with just one patty.
See? Even a single patty, at nearly a half a pound, is quite a large burger!
So next time you have a BIG appetite and need a BIG meal… why not make the Mad Titan Burger!?!?

Oh wow! I love how much creative thought is behind this recipe, I would never have thought of making food inspired by a movie. I think it looks great but I’d only be able to manage a quater of the burger. That said looking a the ingrediants I would still try as much as I could!

It would work great with stacked portobellos! Sometimes I actually prefer portobello “burgers” over meat. They are my favorite mushrooms.

Great thought of burger inspired by movie and giving it that feeling. I love eating burgers though being vegetarian I will replace meat with more veggies or cheese.

I like the idea of putting tortilla chips on a burger. It reminds me of the way I used to put potato chips on my sandwiches when I was a kid. –
