Stay Active this Summer
First off, I’m super psyched that summer is finally here! This means that the days stay light longer. That’s a major plus for me considering I work long hours during the day.
So one of my favorite ways to stay active in the summer is to take my son for long walks around our community. We pack up the stroller and head to the playground! Have you ever chased an energetic two year old around a playground? Forget the long walk to our destination, the chasing alone is a work out! Running around with him not only keeps my heart rate up, but I feel GOOD afterwards. Sure, the humidity gets to me and I feel sweaty, but you know what? I’m keeping active, which is all part of my weight loss plan.
So why are walks in the summer time the best? First off, I don’t have to deal with the cold weather! I can throw on a tank top and running shorts and just go go go. Doesn’t matter if I sweat! That’s a good thing right? For walks in the winter I have to get all bundle up and who knows how far I can go with all the snow on the ground. Plus walking means I can spend time with my son. Of course when he is in the stroller I can speed walk, but it still time spent with one another.
When thinking about fitness, I think one of my biggest challenges for staying active though is that I work 8 hours a day behind a desk. Unfortunately, I’m sure how mid-day work outs here in the middle of the office are to be considered inappropriate, let alone probably distracting to my co-workers. Since I’m allowed a half hour for lunch, I would like to try to take a walk around the block. Though I admit, sometimes there is just too much work to get done that most of my lunches are working lunches. June Shaklee 180™ Results
So let’s talk numbers now! So how did I do for May on Shaklee 180™? Here are my stats for 6/28/2013:
Weight: 182 lbs.
Hips: 34″
Waist: 42″
Bust: 41″
Thighs: 23″
Arms: 11.5″
Grand Total:
Weight loss of 31 lbs.
Inch loss of 20″
So obviously while still a weight loss, it’s not the number I was hoping for. I really wish I had a bigger loss than just 4 pounds, and 3.5″. I have no one to blame but myself. I goal was at least 8 lbs every month, and I’m sad that for July I did not achieve my goal. Hopefully next month I can make up for it and loose at least 8 lbs and then more! I only have 2 months left of Shaklee and am hoping to see bigger numbers for losses in the remaining time.
On the upside though, at least there was a weight loss and not a weight gain!
Last week I went out to Los Angeles for a wonderful 3 day event hosted by Disney. I had my Shaklee 180™ all ready to pack. In the midst of packing, and repacking, and repacking again, I forgot to include my products in the final packing. Unfortunately it was not something I realized until I was in my hotel room out in Hollywood. Now I tried to make better eating choices since I didn’t have my products. Unfortunately, I feel like I failed at that. I would think “oh I can have this, I’ll just make sure I eat better tomorrow”. Sadly it turned into 3 days of eating food I normally do not consume. It was long after I returned home, did I realize that my “break” from Shaklee 180™ resulted in gaining a pound back.
For July I need to focus on staying on track with not only the Shaklee products, but also on staying active and focusing on fitness.

Great job! I love walking too! In fact when I don’t walk I feel sluggish and moody. My body is telling me something! Way to go on the weight and inch loss! So proud of you!
