Why Have a Support System?
This month I was tasked to think a lot about supper and the support I’m receiving throughout this journey of weight loss with Shaklee. I’ll be posting a video soon to give shout outs to those who have been amazing and supportive through the past few months. I’m not just talking supportive of my weight loss though. Trying to balance life, work, parenting, blogging, and a social life can get daunting. There are people out there who are beyond awesome and help keep me in check on way or another, or who offer their support while I go through this crazy life.
First off, if you are trying to stay active, it is always great to have a workout buddy! Now my son isn’t exactly a workout buddy per say, but it is a lot more fun to go on walks with him in the stroller! He gets such a kick out of being outside and looking at the scenes around our town, it drives me to keep walking and keep going rather than heading back home after 30 minutes.
For me with having a support system, it is great to chat with others who are experiencing the same journey. Talking to the other bloggers on the Shaklee 180™ program has been super helpful! If I have a question or concern, I know I can also count on them for input or to see if they are experiencing the same. I highly recommend if you are going on the journey of weight loss.
I do have to say that my BFF is great for recipe ideas! Yes the recipe of his featured on the blog aren’t that healthy, BUT he will text me health meal options, like this “Skinny & Healthy” version of a Philly Cheese Steak he created. YUM! I might just have to post that one day.
My family is also amazing! They make sure I’m in check and on my routine. They always ask how I’m doing and provide more of that “accountability” in that I know I have to get this done and see results so I can tell them “Yes, I lost weight!”
July Shaklee 180™ Results
So let’s talk numbers now! So how did I do for May on Shaklee 180™? Here are my stats for 8/2/2013:
Weight: 178 lbs.
Hips: 34″
Waist: 41″
Bust: 40″
Thighs: 22″
Arms: 10.5″
Grand Total:
Weight loss of 35 lbs.
Inch loss of 24″
Again, I had another month with a smaller loss of just 4 pounds, and 4″. I was really hoping that after loosing just 4 lbs last month, I would see bigger numbers this month. I kicked up my workouts, changed my diet around a bit, and really focused on staying active. I guess the upside is that there was a weight loss and not a weight gain!
So here is my last month… August. I’m nervous, and really hope that with kicking up the workouts I can see a bigger loss. I think I’ll switch up my diet again and hopefully that can help with the inches coming off faster too.
I almost forgot the most awesome news! My brother’s wedding is in September, and I really wanted to loose weight because I knew as a bridesmaid my photo would be taken. Well I was measured for my bridesmaid dress in April. It arrived yesterday and it is WAY too big!! It is going to cost me a lot to get the dress reconstructed, BUT I’m thrilled that it shows how much weight I’ve lost.

Support is SO important in anything! Friends and family are usually my go-to, but sometimes life demands going outside of that circle and finding a new circle who really understands.
