For the past 2 months I’ve been focusing greatly on improving my health. I find myself often research and browsing for any new formulas, ideas, or products to help me achieve my health goals. One of the products I was super excited to learn about is Krill Oil by Everest Nutrition! Now I regularly take fish oil, but I was happy to learn that Krill Oil to provide 54 more times the antioxidant power than that of regular fish oil. After that fact alone, I was eager to learn more!
Benefits of Krill Oil
Everest Nutrition notes that the benefits of Krill Oil include that of the body and mind. Some of the benefits from taking Krill Oil include:
- Protect your heart
- lower your cholesterol
- prevent inflammation
- anti-aging
- prevent PMS symptoms
- maintain healthy blood pressure
- improve brain’s capabilities
Krill Oil offers nutritional value that your body needs to maintain its health. The oil contains a rich supply of astaxanthin, an antioxidant, which is often found in krill (obviously!), shrimp, clams, lobster, crab, and other seafood. I read reports that astaxanthin helps remove free radicals in the body that are known to contribute to various diseases and illnesses. For someone who wants to live a long and healthy life, Krill Oil definitely sounds like a must-take supplement.
The other beneficial factor in Krill Oil is the essential fatty acids which are in the phospholipid form. The benefit of this form is that it allows the body to absorb Omega 3s easier and faster.
I’m quite eager to try Krill Oil for the anti-aging benefit. Now this year I turned 30 (gasp!). In a recent study, women who took krill oil for three months reported improvement in their skin, nails and hair. They commented on an improvement in the texture as well as a 60% reduction in wrinkles and fine lines. Sounds good to me! Plus the women reported an improvement in energy levels and concentration, which are two things where I currently find myself struggling.
I’m also excited for the cardio vascular benefits from Krill Oil. Now I don’t have a history of heart issues, but I figured any benefits are great. A study was conducted and published in the Journal of American College of Nutrition, in which one group was given The group 300 mg of krill oil daily while the other group was given a placebo. For those who took the Krill Oil, their C-Reactive Protein levels reduced by 19.3% after seven days. The levels dropped even further by 29.7% after 14 days. These levels measure the damage to the heart. You’ll want them to be on the lower side!
Directions
Simply take two capsules daily, preferably around breakfast time in the morning. If you are in need of more intense results, you can take two capsules twice daily. In this case you should take them around breakfast and then around lunch. The pills are pretty easy to swallow if you normally do not have issues. Make sure you keep the capsules in a cool dry place, or in the refrigerator.

I have a friend who is taking fish oil because she’s pregnant but it gives her bad heartburn. I wonder if this would get her the omegas without the heartburn, maybe?
